We're told by Tom H. that the Brewers have an interest in Braden Looper.
I'll stand by my prior analysis of Looper:
By the magic of Dave Duncan, has been a decent starter the past few years. Magic likely wears off upon leaving St. Louis. Pass.

It would have to be a very conservative contract.
See- Jeff Suppan
With you 100% DOGY. Although Looper looks a tad better over the past two seasons as a starter, you can't discount the Dave Duncan factor.
Additionally, Sean Smith's CHONE projections have Jeff Suppan's value at 400k a season...basically forever. He's also got a .1 wins above replacement value, whereas Looper is 1.0 for the next two seasons. So, do you want mediocrity, or mediocrity with a side of poo?
At this point, with the money money we're willing to spend, this is the caliber of player we'll get.
I like to state the obvious...
maybe the brewers should i hire dave duncan?
