Tauscher's Green Bay Career Over?

It's official - Mark Tauscher tore his ACL. He's a free agent after this year and there was already questions about him coming back. After many fine seasons, Tauscher is clearly on the downside of his career. He seemed to almost "hit the wall" like many players his age do. His run and pass blocking effectiveness has decreased substantially.

What a career, though. Small town Wisconsin kid, didn't even start at UW until his senior year, 7th round pick, looks like a jelly donut, yet played a notch below pro bowl-level for a decade. Actually, the injury might help him come back to Green Bay....he'll come MUCH cheaper and the Packers could give him some sort of incentive-laden contract.

Tony Moll didn't look any better, and even got "Reggie White-ed" by Mario Williams. That was impressive.

This is sad, Tauscher has been nothing but class since we got him. I wish him luck.

I was fortunate enough to spend an evening having adult beverages with Tauscher (friend of a friend - long story) in Washington DC a few years back. What you see is what you get with that guy - really a good guy. I also learned that it is much easier to get out of a crowded bar if you walk behind an NFL offensive tackle.

What you read is what you get with that guy - really a good guy. I also learned it's damn near impossible to get out of a crowded bar if you walk behind a guy who fits into a kid-sized Ryan Braun jersey.

I can get out, because I just turn sideways as I walk.

Woz - not so much.

Woz,

That is outstanding. To quote the wise Homer Simpson "Funny cuz it's true"
