Well, not much to say about yesterdays game. Shoddy D cost us and Hamels was on. His location with the change-up was excellent all game. The pitch Hart wiffed on to end the game looked like it was right there with no movement, Lidge just blew it past Hart. I don't like Hart
Speaking of Hart, when watching Jayson Werth bat, did you get the feeling you were watching Corey "The Scarecrow" Hart bat? They are both tall, gangly guys and Werth looked as clueless at the plate yesterday as Hart did all of September. Lets look at their 2008 stats to see how similar they really are.
Corey Hart: 612 ABs, 76 runs, 164 hits, 45 2B, 20 HR, 91 RBIs, 23 SB, 27 BB, 109 Ks, .268 Avg, .300 OBP, .459 SLG
Jayson Werth: 418 ABs, 73 runs, 114 hits, 16 2B, 24 HR, 67 RBIs, 20 SB, 57 BB, 119 Ks, .273 Avg., .363 OBP, .498 SLG.
Werth and Jenkins were splitting time at the start of the season so Werth has about 200 less ABs and 50 less hits than Hart. Werth had 30 more walks but struck out 10 more times. Hart is a doubles monster, but Werth plays in Philly, so he has 4 more HRs. After looking at the stats, maybe not as similar as I originally thought, but Werth certainly looked like Hart yesterday flailing away at crap out of the zone.

Yes...thank you for pointing out that the pitch Hart struck out on was 93 mph, no movement, right down Wisconsin Ave.
