Fess Up

It's time to fess up and give your WORST predictions of all time. Not just on Chuckie Hacks, but of all time. Lord knows we've had a few our share. I famously said the Brewers were dead after about 50 games this year...oops. Matt's brilliant football knowledge picked last years Packers to go 4-12. Woz said the Reds, not the Cubs, would be the Brewers biggest challenge for the division this year. And Goldy...he wanted JJ Hardy gone at the All Star break.

A few more of my awful prediction from way back:

- Deron Williams will suck in the NBA
- Florida (circa, 1994) will crush Nebraska. Final Score was like 60-14, Cornhuskers
- Detroit would roll St Louis in the World Series a few years ago.
- Marcus Camby will dominate the NBA. Ha
- I wanted the Bucks to draft Chris Paul instead of Bogut. Wait...that one would have worked out.

Enough of me, how about the WORST predictions you ever made.

Other than my Packers prediction from last year, I was convinced that Reece Gaines would be the next big thing in the NBA.

Um, yeah.

That Jennifer Capriatti would win the 2003 US Open.

I was convinced that Kelvin Cato would block ten shots a game and had hoped the Bucks would draft him, and for the next four years or so after that draft, hoped the Bucks would acquire him in a trade.

And even though I bad mouthed Jeff Suppan at any chance I got before he was a Brewer, I convinced myself that he was a good acquisition when he signed the second worst contract in club history. Ugh!!!!!!!!

I thought that by signing Charles Woodson, the Packers were signing a washed-up has-been who never fully realized his potential in the NFL, and that it was an utter waste of contract.

I bet a friend of mine $50 once that Wisconsin Badger Jim Leonhard would get drafted in the 4th round or higher. In my defense he is at least playing in the league right now.

I won $50 from a Notre Dame homer who said Lou Holtz would get South Carolina into the top 5 within 3 years. Still waiting for that money, Barrett.

Of the awful ones I can remember:

1) this year's badger's team was going to have an awesome defense!!

2) Dan Gadzurich was going to be a steal after the Bucks drafted him

3) Joey Thomas was going to be the next big CB in the NFL

4) Leeland Mcelroy was going to be the next Barry Sanders

I think the Bucks will surprise people and actually be decent this year.

Yep, pre-emptively saying it's a bad prediction.

I thought Shawn Respert would be an all-star

Predicted Scott Podsednik would win rookie of the year.

Then predicted he would spend the rest of his career proving the voters wrong.

Nope.

Baseball -- I think this Lopes guy was a good pick over that fool Garner.

Football -- This John Jefferson trade is going to be great for the Packers.

Bucks -- Todd Day can really play.

Ben Hendrickson's curveball will make him a very reliable starter for the Crew for a long, long time.

Yi's marketability will get the Bucks a new arena built. Whoops.

"With Tony Mandarich on the line, it's only a matter of time before Brent Fullwood is an All-Pro."

"The Bucks have just got to come up with the money to keep Tim Thomas."

"Drew Brees will never make it as an NFL quaterback."

"I have a really good feeling about this years Brewers team."
(made several times during the last couple of decades)

(Birdhas post) Josh Golackson's 49ers over Woz's Colts in the Tecmo Super Bowl Super Bowl of 2002. I think I set the spread at 49ers +8.5.

Lets see, I too had Leaf over Manning, I wanted the Bucks to draft Cherokee Parks, I thought Shawn Respert would be good and I thought Rashaan Salam would be the next Emmitt Smith. Those are some of my all time best I can recall
