Gallardo to return?

Buried at the end of Tom Haudricourt's line-up post today on the J-S Brewers Blog is this little nugget:
And here's an interesting little development. As I write this blog, right-hander Yovani Gallardo is throwing a simulated game to a handful of Brewers hitters. Gallardo has been out since May 1 with a torn ACL in his right knee and the Brewers have maintained it is a long shot that he will pitch again this season.

But to be at the point of throwing a simulated game means he's not that far away from being ready to pitch in games. The problem the Brewers have is that the minor league season is over and therefore he can't go on a rehab assignment there.

Wow. That would be awesome if Yo could make it back in time for the end of the season and hopefully the Playoffs. I don't see him pitching in a starting role after being out for 4 months, but I think he would work great as the 8th inning guy for this post season. This could be potentiall outstanding news.

Did Hall strike out during the simulated game, to make it realistic?

I'm sure we could put together 2 teams of players to create an actual game for Yo in place of a minor league rehab stint. Who's in?

Yo is going to throw a simulated no hitter only to have Gagne come in and simulate a blown save. Ned Yost will then simulate a rant saying how it should have been a perfect simulation but the simulated umps blew a called simulated third strike.

Only then will Yo be introduced to the full array of emotions during the entire season. He will then be ready...

I'm getting excited!
