Road Trip!

As I sit in beautiful Oneonta, New York, this morning, not too far from Ithaca College, I can't help but wonder if this will be the make or break road trip of the season for the Brewers. A 10-gamer to 3 cities and a ton of travel. I really don't see the logic of the Atlanta to Minneapolis to Phoenix road trip. I am sure the Cubs don't have anything crazy like this. Anyway, the Brewers face three legit teams on this road trip. The always tough Braves, the surging Twins and the first-place Diamondbacks.
The Brewers are 21-10, the best record in the bigs, since the debacle in Boston (or was it Austin). Coming of another successful homestand, the Brewers need to carry that momentum on the road for a change. I would be happy with a 5-5 trip, but I think they are going to go 6-4. Win 1 in Atlanta, 2 in Minnesota and 3 in Arizona. Unleash the fury! What's your take on the road trip?

Happy with a 5-5 trip? I've got a woody thinking about a 5-5 trip.

This is the 4th time the Brewers have gone on a 3-city, 9 or 10 game road trip so far this year.

I wonder how many times the Cubs or Cardinals have had one of those trips so far this year?

Realistically, a 4-6 trip would be acceptable. It's damn near impossible to win in Atlanta this year.

I'll answer my own question.

The Cardinals have had 1 3-city, 9 game road trip (to Washington, Houston and Cincinnati) this year.

The Cubs have had 0 such trips this year.

On a side note, looks like Billy Hall decided to get on a fat chick on Saturday night for a slump-buster....We're going 6-4. 2 of 3 from ATL, split with the twinkies, and 2 of 3 from AZ. That's if we play MN 4 games, haven't looked at the schedule that closely

It's not exactly the same, but this is similar to the road trip that started the skid last year. Right before the break in '07, we had a ten game roadie @ Chicago, 4@ Pit, and finishing the first half in Wash (including a memorable Capuano meltdown on the last day at the Nats). They went 3-7 in that trip winning only one game in each city, and they were 14 games over .500 before that road trip.

I'd say 4-6 for this next trip, winning one game in each of the first two cities and a split of the Arizona series. Jo Jo Reyes and Campillo for the Braves made us look stupid the last time we faced them. Didn't we sweep the DBacks already this year?

people still mad about the lack of road games for the cubs. cubs have played 36 on the road, brewers 37.

how many west coast trips for the brewers? 0, cubs - 1.

3-7 trip ahead. They'll win one game each series.

Unless they can get Amy Smart to "inspire" them before each game.

the cubs just did toronto, albany, bus trip to cooperstown for a game they didn't play, tampa (night game on day 3), back to chicago for day game.

so don't feel too sorry for the brewers.

So, WV, you don't see anything odd about having four 9 or 10-game road trips prior to the All-Star break?

i'm sorry, matt, i didn't see that was the question on the table.

yes, that is odd.

cubs leave on a 10-day road trip thursday (though it starts in chicago, so i'm not sure if that counts, but continues on to SF and then St. Louis).

in september, they have a nine-game trip and finish with 16 out of 22 on the road.

it is indeed an odd schedule this year.

I'm surprised no one mentioned my blog item today, in which I rank the Brewers as the early favorites in the CC Sabathia sweepstakes (based on motivation and quality prospects).

This movie was soo awesome. I love Tom Green in this movie, soo ridiculous! I wish I could take a road trip this summer but the gas prices are just getting to high for me to afford. But luckily Jack in the box has come to the rescue so I don’t have to starve while buying gas this summer. You love those tacos from Jack in the Box, don’t deny it.—the crispy goodness with the melted cheese, hot sauce and crisp lettuce on the inside. With gas becoming more and more expensive, Jack wants to help you fill your stomach. Bring any gas receipt to Jack in the Box next Thursday, June 26th, and get TWO FREE TACOS. No gimmicks, no hidden fees, no purchase necessary—just two free tacos! Let all your friends know if they like taaaaacos
