More info about random Brewers draft choices

Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Rob Wooten.

With the 398th pick in the draft, the Brewers selected RHP Robert Wooten out of UNC. Right off the bat, it will be awesome if this guy makes the show and the home crowd can yell "Wooooooooot" any time he does something good.

Some random research came up with the following facts about Mr. Woot:

  • He went to Aycock High School in North Carolina. One can only hope they were the Aycock Cocks.

  • Favorite movie is "Old School". Nothing wrong there.

  • Models his game after Roger Clemens. Lets hope he doesn't model his off the field activities after the Rocket.

  • As a set-up man, he led the NCAA in appearances in 2007 with 47.

  • Has a 3.52 ERA in 7-2/3 innings at the 2007 College World Series.

  • This year Woot has a 1.93 ERA in 37 games covering 51-1/3 innings.

  • "I've been a North Carolina fan as long as I can remember, I bleed Carolina blue. I grew up watching Carolina basketball; I used to cry when they lost, I still do." Erg, sounds more like a Duke fan.

Fans should also be excited about the #578 pick, RHP Blakeney Billings out of Hillcrest HS in Alabama for no reason other than his name is Blakeney Billings. He will fit in great with Cutter and Maverick.

Does UNC wear Florida Gators colors in baseball?

That would be a photo of him playing in the Cape Cod league for the Chatham A's. The same team Freddie Prinze Jr. played for in the terrible movie "Summer Catch". The best part about that movie, outside of Jessica Biel herself, was that jessica could throw better than Freddie.
