Is Ben Sheets the best pitcher in the NL? How about the entire major leagues? Hey...if Ned Yost says he is...it's got to be true!
"Oh yeah, no doubt," Yost said, adding Sheets is the best of "anybody in baseball, in both leagues."
Stamp it! He's the best!
In all seriousness, I do believe Sheets can be the best pitcher in baseball on any given day. I just think it's funny the way Yost portrays it.
The big question now is the All-Star Game. Does Sheets warrant the start? Eh what the hell...why not. He'll be a Yankee next year anyway...he might as well introduce himself to the crowd.

Sheets became only the second Brewer to start a season with nine or more wins in his first 10 decisions. Cal Eldred did so in 1992
You know its high praise when you are compared to Cal Eldred in that almost Cy Young year of 1992.
If he stays on normal rest, he'll pitch the Sunday before the all-star game and then (hopefully) won't pitch in the actual game. Nothing good can come of him playing in the game, but a lot of bad things can.
was that you on the first one Benny? Just kinda confusing that I didn't write that although I agree and thank you for those random facts.
What about Game 1 in Miller Park instead of Fenway?
What is Ned supposed to say to that question.
No?
No...it now appears that we have a "third krey," almost like the "fifth beatle."
Call me crazy, but we need to keep Sheets...hear me out...
Trade for C.C. and get rid of Prince or LaPorta or Gwynn...or a combination...let C.C. walk at the end of the year, sign Sheets during that time and when C.C. signs we'll get two more draft picks for next year...otherwise we're S.O.L on pitching next year...we're not gonna keep C.C., we're not gonna keep Prince, but we could take a chance on Benny again...I think Prince is replaceable...and we have to keep Gamel! He could play first! Just a thought...
I didn't mention it, but I'm totally down w/ garcia's logic there.
