Jared from Right Field Bleachers told us to pass along this memo urging fans to cheer Jenks during his return to Milwaukee - I totally agree.
Hey guys,
This is Jared with Right Field Bleachers, a Brewers' blog/fan site at RightFieldBleachers.com. I've e-mailed/talked with several of you over the last couple years as we've run across each other on the Web or in person, but I don't know a lot of you too. Basically, if you're getting this, it means you're one of the Brewers blogs I subscribe to and read daily (and your e-mail address is easily found somewhere on your site). Thanks for what you do. Over the next couple of weeks, the guys here at Right Field Bleachers are going to be trying to get the word out about Geoff Jenkins' return on Wednesday, April 23. We're just sick of hearing boos when former players return to Miller. Sure, it's fine if it's the Sheffields and Hammonds of the world, but when we were there to hear the boos come down on class acts like Burnitz and Brady Clark, we could just shake our heads in disgust. Jenks deserves no such treatment. Love him or hate him, he was on the team for a decade and gave it his all every day. He loved the Brewers and Milwaukee and we want to do anything we can so that he comes back to a warm welcome.
We put together a post detailing some of his accomplishments here, and the post includes links to signs that fans can print off and bring along to the game with them if they'd like. We're also planning on talking about some of our favorite Jenkins moments over the next couple of weeks on the blog to build up to the game. If other Brewer blogs make posts encouraging fans to applaud his return, maybe a few more people will come to the game to cheer Jenkins or at least not boo. It's worth a shot anyway... I'll keep my eye out for cool stuff related to Jenks' return and post it up on our site. Thanks. And keep in touch. We love meeting other Brewer bloggers. Have a good one and...

I don't think many people will boo Jenks. Everyone should remember his ovation when he left the last game last year, plus his full page ad in the JS.
The fact that these games are mid-week games in April should cut down on the number of clueless, casual hayseeds who would normally boo someone like that.
I personally bought tickets for the series specifically because Jenks was coming back, and not to boo him.
Obviously, I'm not going to boo the Glue.
I will cheer when he strikes out on a low inside slider with men on base, however.
I wash my hands of this topic for personal problems between myself and Geoff's father.
Agreed on not booing him, and on cheering loudly when he waves at a pitch a foot outside of the strike zone and there's a runner on 3rd with one out.
Anybody notice Jenks batted leadoff yesterday?? That was odd.
I think Woz needs to post his Geoff Jenkins father story for personal reasons.
Am I OK if I only cheer for the people who are booing him?
Honestly, normally I would boo him, but I really did think that ad he took out was pretty classy. I'm kind of torn now......
....and I would never boo Cordero or Carlos Lee or guys like that. I will, however, boo the bejesus out of Brady Clark.
