Not the Best Start to Spring Training

Ugh. Yovani Gallardo will miss 4 weeks after tearing cartilage in his knee during throwing exercises in Spring Training. I don't like the fact that this is his plant leg. There is a good amount of stress put on that knee in the pitching motion. My random speculation is that we are looking at an early June return. I am guessing the Brewers are going to be extremely cautious with this one. Plus, all those who were worried that Yo would become the next Francisco Liriano don't have to worry about that this year. With this development, my guess at the starting rotation is Sheets, Suppan, Chuckie V., Bush and Capuano. Honestly, I think there is no way Vargas will be a starter.

In other news, Wake beat Duke tonight. Down the stretch, Duke was not getting any calls and looked to be getting hosed. Can't say I have seen that too often.

Also, during comercial breaks of this game, I was flipping through the channels and there was a Knight Rider movie on. I thought it might be interesting, but then I saw that KITT was a silver Mustang. WTF.

I'd say trading Yo in the rotation for a month for Cappy/Bush might be a 1 or 2 game swing in the standings. Those 2 games ended up being a big deal last year.....

At least we don't have to worry about Gallardo going over that imaginary innings pitched limit now, right?

So it's true - Gallardo is a lot like Sheets.

Capuano is Mr. April, so maybe this won't matter that much.

Sounds good to me. Let's save Gallardo's arm until the 2nd week of May.

Cappy can be the 5th starter and start out 5-1. Then we he starts his meltdown, we trade him when he still has value, and insert Gallardo into the mix.

Perfect!

I read this somewhere and it cracked me up:

Out of solidarity, Sheets will join Gallardo on the DL to start the season.

Is Chuckie Hacks like a restaurant - you know, closed for business on Mondays?

We're more like one of those small businesses that have posted hours, but never answer the phone and may or may not be open during said posted hours.
