Brewers Trade for Salomon Torres

So, the Brewers just sent 2 buster minor leaguers to Pittsburgh for reliever Salomon Torres. Torres had a rough season last year, but pitched good in 05 and 06. Honestly, this trade isn't that big of news, but it is always good to have some bullpen arms to choose from when McClung doesn't pan out.

However, the best part of this trade? Salomon Torres threw the following pitch:

Looks like a closer by committee situation this year....

Pretty decent trade....

The Brewers could have a different closer each day of the week:

Mon - Riske
Tues - Mota
Wed - McClung
Thurs - Shouse
Fri - Turnbow
Sat - Torres
Sun - Parra/Bush/Vargas/Capuano (whoever doesn't make the rotation)

Seeing Brewers news is getting me amped for the season already!

I like the idea of Friday being Turnbow's game, since they never won on Fridays last year anyway.

Stupid retro unis.

That was a great pitch. It is not Torres's fault that the steroids slowed Corky's reaction time and he could not get out of the way.
