Yo!

Tom Haudricourt reports that the Brewers might call up Yo Gallardo to take Chris Capuano's turn on Monday against the Giants, if Cappy can't go because of his strained groin.

Not that I'm rooting for a Capuano injury, but....this could be the beginning of the end of the spot in the rotation currently manned by Dave Bush or Vargas, if either one falters this weekend at Minnesota and Gallardo pitches well against the Giants.

UPDATE: The Brewers have officially called Gallardo up, and placed Capuano on the DL. The plan, according to Yost, is to start Gallardo on Monday against the Giants if they can get through the Twins series without using him in relief. Because of recent heavy workload, Villanueva is not available to pitch in the Twins series.

Herd Cappy is on the DL. No source yet. If Villanueva didnt earn Bush's spot in the rotation after last nights effort, he never will.

Gallardo's stats in AAA are amazing, and I think he is overdue for the big leagues since it doesn't seem like the minors are much of a challenge for him anymore. I wouldn't be at all angry to see Charlie NewVillage and Yugi-o in the strarting rotation and Bush in the bully for a while. Here's an article i was looking at the other day comparing Yovanni to the Red's #1 overall prospect, Homer Bailey. BTW, Bailey got his first MLB start the other day...

Yup, the Brewers website says that Cappy is on the DL and Yo is getting called up. However, Ned seems to have left open the possibility of starting Villanueva on Monday and using Yo in relief during the Twins series.

Two things here. The Brewers could have and should have picked Bailey over Mark Rodgers in 20004. Second, Ben Hendrickson dominated the PCL as well.
