Bird/McHale Would Domminate Today's NBA

Not just on the court, I guess. Apparently, these two legends liked to lite up some hippy lettuce with none other than Johnny Mellencamp. Good times! Robert "The Chief" Parish was not available for comment.

What do you like more, Indy racing or basketball? stephen.persa, Burlington, VT

Well, my wife was the first female to drive the Indianapolis 500 pace car, which is pretty neat — particularly when you know that she can’t drive. But I’d definitely say basketball. I’ve known Larry Bird since we were kids. When he was on the Celtics and I was playing in Boston, he and Kevin McHale would come to my dressing room after the show and smoke me under the table.

Larry Bird?????? I have nothing against smoking out..but Larry Bird represents pure, hard nosed, no nonsense basketball and nothing else.....this kind of taints of him....very surprising. Did Red smoke out too?

Why do you think Red liked all those "cigars"? First Len Bias died, then Reggie Lewis, and finally Dennis Johnson!!! Lets just blame it all on Mellencamp...even if he had that sweet song about my parents..."Frank and Diaaaane, two American kids doing best as they can..."
