Well, That Was a Nice Little 3rd Inning

Congrats to Matt Gamel on his first big league home run. Thankfully for Matt, he hit it into the Cardinals bullpen and doesn't have to deal with a potential douchebag fan making insane demands for the return of the ball. Seriously, that was a huge hit. A big 3-run homer with 2 strikes and 2 outs. It was a ball, but I'll take it. That was pretty sweet. Time to start purchasing those Matt Gamel jersey t-shirts.

It was also nice watching Matt make a clean play on his first attempt at 3rd. It was an easy play, but reports are that those are the ones he tends to screw up on the trow. The throw looked pretty true to me.

To close it out, Braun made a sweet play in left. Lets just hope he didn't strain his intercostal on that. I liked how he had a grin on his face after he turned over. I sure am glad he is a Brewer.

Correction, Goldy. Only one "t" in "Mat." Like the old Red Sox manager, Jimy Williams.

Who said Gamel sucks on defense?

Oh yeah, I did.

That was a pretty nice play. Good hustle by the anonymous Cardinal who was robbed on the play - someone must have untucked their shirt in the stands, infuriating him.

I was much more a fan of the Gary Scott and Kevin Orie eras.

Actually went to a Cubs game in high school and my buddy wore a Gary Scott jersey. That may have been the only Gary Scott jersey ever screen printed.

WV, the Brewers just chewed through the Cardinals' bullpen in the last 2 games of that series, just in time for the Cubs to come into town.

Enjoy.

Did anyone notice King Albert do a bat flip on a walk late in the game? What a show-off! He's disrespecting the game!

I was a little upset Gamel didn't get the shaving cream pie during his post-game interview.

Already ordered my Gamel jersey to beat the bandwagon like I did for Braunie back in 07.

matt - did i hear them mention 8 pitchers today? goodness.

i actually prefer the aramis ramirez era. but i'm guessing there's a reason you don't like that one so much, goldy.

Mat Gamel and Danny Noonan look like twins.

That bat flip demonstrated a tremendous respect for the game. Now I'm going to go drink and drive and save an animal.

i dont think gamel has 15 career at bats so why is espn telling me that he is 1-15 off of kyle loshe, also why do they tell me that the brewers havent swept the cardinals in st louis since 2003 when we did it last year

Overall Gamel played pretty well, aside from that poor throw to Fielder, but the 3 run homer more than made up for that.

Loved Braun's sliding catches, what a show off.

Good job watching that foul ball for 10 minutes you shitfuck.

Nice rhyme Clown. I think you should make Pujols a balloon ass hat when he comes to town next Monday.

That is correct, WV. 8. The only guy who didn't pitch out of the bullpen yesterday was the guy who threw 3 relief innings on Sunday.

Braun's grab:

Excellent.
