WBC? Kind of Blah

OK, I just watched the US make a great 9th inning comeback against Puerto Rico to fend off elimination and advance to the semi-finals of the World Baseball Classic. My reaction?

That was nice.

I was happy to see the US team win, but honestly, I just don't care that much. Maybe it was because Braun got hurt. Maybe its because it feels like an exhibition with the US having a 2 man bench. I have watched a bunch of these games but I am just not that in to it. It does have too much of an exhibition feel to it for me. Granted, I am watching baseball games in March when I usually am not watching them, but Netherlands-Venezuela just doesn't do it for me.

Anyone really enjoying this thing?

Disagree, I am loving this tournament.

The only reason I've watched so far was for an early Braun fix. Now that he's injured? Eh.

But seriously, there are enough Dutch baseball players to constitute an entire team? That should be enough to blow anyone's mind.

I enjoyed last night's win. I'll make it a concerted effort to watch the rest of the games now.

However, the main point is I really enjoy saying blah.

The real problem here is cheering for Ted Lilly.
I love this tournament. I like watching anything that has athletes representing their countries attempting to prove how much better their country is than yours based soley on the outcome of a game. I hate to admit it in a public forum, but I have found myself enjoying the World Cup when it rolls around.

I also enjoy it. Watching the Korea/Japan game a little last night was fairly entertaining. The Koreans love their thundersticks.

I like it because Bud Selig said I have to.

America, fuck yeah!

Just want to clarify that I am enjoying the WBC, I just don't think it is stirring the type of emotions that it should.

When Wright got the game winning hit last night, I wasn't jumping around my living room. My thought was "Sweet, we won" and then I flipped to the news. Contrast that to Brauns homer in Game 162. I dove headfirst across our hardwood florrs and then ran around the back yard. Proceeded to down about 5 beers in the top of the 9th.

Granted, those are two very different situations, but I just thought I would be a little more in to the win than I was.

I enjoyed the game last night, but the constant whistles coming from the stands annoyed the crap out of me.

I agree with the whistle comment. I believe my quote during the game was, "Who the F brings whistles to a baseball game?" What is the point of that?
