NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I mentioned it before, and apparently the Brewers didn't get the memo. From today's JS:

"There also is a new pennant up in the left-field area marking the team's 2008 Wild Card playoff entry."

You've got to be F-ing kidding me? A Wild card pennant?? This is ridiculous. Pennants are for Division, League, or World Series championships, not Wild Card berths.

The Brewers, and Brewers fans, should be embarrassed.

I didn't know Tom Crean was in the Brewers front office...

As someone who has been to every major league stadium, the Brewers are definitely not the only team to do this. The Astros are one of them. Sure, it's not a division title or a NL pennant, but it's not the worst thing in the world.

Not as bad as ..... the NCAA tournament first Round Banner!
I don't know about the BC, but they are up in the Kohl center

The last time that Brad used this headline, I think was when we learned that Yo tore his ACL.

The Verizon Center in DC has multiple banners up honoring the Washington Mystics' for leading the WNBA in attendance.

There is nothing worse than that.

I don't have a problem with it. A wild card in baseball is just as impressive as a division title in the NBA/NFL if you go by how many teams make the playoffs, etc...

I think it's one of the situations where they'll put it up for now, and if we start winning divisions consistently they'll get rid of it and leave up only the "big" ones.

The banner in the Kohl Center lists all of UWs NCAA appearences, just like Marquette has. However, only Marquette has a banner up for beating Duke in a pre-season tournament.

hopefully its only up for a temporary basis. yes they got into the playoffs and it was electric...but no need to recognize it like that

The Crew had to win 90 games to win the Wild Card...the Dodgers won their division with 84 wins. So the Dodgers deserve a pennant for 84 wins, and the Brewers don't deserve one for 90 wins? C'mon, that's completely arbitrary and ridiculous.

Better late then never. But I agree with tGP. Nicely put. Sorry Brad. Not winning this one

As long as it doesn't say Wild Card CHAMPIONS, I can live with it.

The only reason I am jumping in on this post is its your most recent Brewers one (congrats on the WC Banner, that great fun)...

But I just wanted to make a return to Chuckie Hacks to point out that I am not the only one who thinks the Brewers are a 4th place team in the NL Central:

I think you should hunt down these other folks and make sure to call them ignorant trolls as well! ;)

Go Cubs...

You think the Braves and Yankees fly wild card banners? Didn't think so.

I really hate this. I hate it because it reflects the mental state of some Brewers fans. That state is the mentality that making the playoffs is the goal. Winning the World Series is the goal. Winning the division should be the absolute lowest accomplishment that one should hang a pennant for. This just makes us look small-market and glad to be here.
