Just Kill This Monstrosity

How do you know if your basketball conference has too many teams? Here are some hints:

1. If your all-conference first team has 6 players (which is actually down from the 11 player (!) first team from 2007-08)....your basketball conference has too many teams.

2. If your top 4 teams get not one, but two byes in the conference tournament....your basketball conference has too many teams.

3. If you play 18 conference games, but only play 3 teams twice....your basketball conference has too many teams.

4. If your basketball conference has Rutgers in it....your basketball conference has too many teams.

5. If your basketball conference's own website can't remember all of the conference teams (doesn't Providence get a "team section" in the men's basketball media guide?)....your basketball conference has too many teams.

If you can't get from one school to the next by bus in less than 6 hours...your basketball conference is too big.

When local fans from one school can't understand the taunts of another school's fans because of the difference in accents (Rutgers and Louisville, Marquette and USF)...your basketball conference is too big.
