Brewers offseason moves debate...

Over at Bernie's Crew today, there was a round table discussion regarding the overall grading of the Brewers' off-season moves. Here's the link.

There was a lot of common sense being written...everybody generally believes the Crew "did what they could" with the budget available and the moves they did should allow the team to remain competitive. I'm in that boat.

The only thing that we could all point and laugh at is this comment made by one of the guys over at Bucky Channel...
It wasn't a good off-season by any means, but it certainly wasn't a bad one. Melvin didn't sign any of the people I wanted to see signed, such as Joe Crede, a better starting pitcher, or even Brian Shouse, but he was definitely busy.

Joe Crede? Ummm...yeah...that's what we need. 3rd base is the position where we need more overpaid, often-injured, low OBP type guys. Joe Crede? Dude has played in the Majors for bits of 9 seasons and he has a career OBP of .306!!! I'm sure he's a nice guy. Who knows...in his spare time he might run a charity that helps retarded elephants reach the circus...but him at 3B for the Brewers? NO.

"Well he gets an A for effort" doesn't win games.
I would give them a C.

Why the need to offend retarded elephants? Almost as bad as the rip on women's college basketball that happened a couple of weeks ago.
