Job Hunting In Chicago

The Chicago Cubs hosted a job fair over the weekend at Wrigley Field.

Reports indicate that the Cubs were searching for, among other things, cashiers, maintenance workers, and a Chairperson of the Playoff Victory Search Committee, a position that has been vacant for some time.

H/T to Wrigleyville for the story.

WV23? Where did Wrigleyville go?

I always enjoy the Wrigleyville/Anonymous back-and-forth.

feeling lazy, so went with four keystrokes.

as for the back and forth, i like to be told to "stfu," called a lady and asked the exact same question over and over and over "how many playoff games have the cubs won the last five years?"

it's the cleverness and wit that keeps me coming back.

You know it's gonna be a down year when the brewers promotional schedule has it's last two bobble head nights honoring Jeff Suppan and Doug Melvin...

I'll be honest I'd rather have one of the sausages...

I can't wait for next year when they throw out the Bud Selig Bobble head. I think the figurine would be made of dead people's bones that had osteoporosis.

speaking of bud, this has been bothering me:

the offseason he lectured the cubs (and giants) on spending too much (2006-07) led into the season in which he made more than all but four players in baseball (all yankees).

this offseason? not a peep.

turd.

When will Brewers marketing realize bobbleheads stopped being cool like 3 years ago? Especially a Suppan/Melvin one.

If they still need bobblehead giveaways to fill the stadium, that's not a good thing.

What is this basphemy about not having bobbles!? My Turbow bobbles hair just stood on end.

What about this Pitch and Stitch night. Seriously? Who thought of that? They should have that during a Cubs game. Everyone bring knitting needles to stab Cubs fans.

I can't believe I am typing this...but I agree with Clownship. Sorry Brad, don't try to be too kool for the bobblehead. You know your basement is proudly full of them. I've seen it.

As for the in Doug we trust night. You can bet I'll be there. I'm hoping it is the mustache version of Doug and it has real hair on the stache like Turnbow’s.

Good times
