It Is What It Is

I see that the Pro Bowl roster was released today.

It seems that a shrewd GM with some stones can drastically improve a roster by bringing in talented players via trade or free agency. The Jets nabbed 3 2009 Pro Bowlers prior to the start of this season (Alan Faneca, Kris Jenkins and some washed up primadonna named Favre) and another (Thomas Jones) before the start of last year.

To be fair, Ted's 2008 masterpiece did net Pro Bowls for Charles Woodson (acquired via free agency back when Ted displayed some stones every once in a while) and Nick Collins.

I guess Aaron Rodgers' fine fantasy football stats didn't sway the voters, perhaps on account of the fact that he's behind the wheel of the 4th worst team in the NFC.

It seems Brett Favre gets the slot that was automatically given to him when he was traded to the AFC.

To be fair, Philip Rivers TD totals and QB-rating shouldn't be trusted, especially when you could go with the LEAGUE LEADER in INT's. 17 interceptions would have definately made the Packer's problems go away.

Numbers don't lie, Rodgers was the better QB this year. I say this year, or I will be taken back to the glory days by some of the Favrians that comment here. Also, why is there so much stake put into a game that the players voted in don't even show up to?

It wouldn't shock me if Rodgers eventually goes as a replacement.

I could see that happening - if Romo, Garcia, Ryan and McNabb all decline an invitation, maybe Rodgers gets the call.

Touche, Matt, touche.

He has a good year, though, sir. He just plays on a horrible team.
