The Yankees have signed Mark Texiera for 8 years and approximately a fuckgillion dollars.
Meaning the Angels, and not the Brewers, get the Yankees' first round pick in 2009. The Brewers are relegated to the Yankees' 2nd round pick as well as a "sandwich" pick in the first round as compensation for losing CC Sabathia. That's a shit sandwich delivered just before Xmas.
In unrelated news, Mark Attanasio is calling for a salary cap in MLB.

The only thing that would make this post better is if we could photoshop Texiera's face on to Ted Nugent's body during the scene in the High Enough video where Ted is playing the guitar solo in front of the house that is getting riddled with bullets. This would fit because Ted is totally mailing it in during that scene and only part of this shit group for the money. Much like the Yankees.
Honestly, this is just stupid. Nearly half a billion for 3 guys this off season. What are the other teams supposed to do?
I like how they fork over half a billion dollars on three guys, and yet before the made the Texiera deal they had the nerve to tell us we had to pick up some of Cameron's deal in any trade.

Personally I like how they are still asking the NY taxpayers for help on their new stadium
at least they are in the AL. i'd be way more pissed if the brewers were still in the AL or even worse in the AL east.
