Following up on Two Names' excellent Bucks post, it was concluded that the Bucks have not won in Phoenix since February 21, 1987 at the old Veterans Memorial Coliseum, a 15,000-seat facility also known as "The Madhouse on McDowell" according to Wikipedia (is that anything like "The Fortress on Fourth"?). Thanks to the magic of the internet, Basketball-Reference.com has the box score from this landmark game.
Lets look at some of the highlights:
- The Bucks starting 5 consisted of John Lucas, TC, Sikma, Paul Pressey, and our boy Sid.
- By '87, I am pretty sure Moncrief was at the tail end of his career. He only had 6 points in 24 minutes. It's too bad injuries held Sid back.
- John Lucas dropping 24 points, 10 assists and 6 boards. Nice.
- Sikma coming through with 12 boards and 7 on the offensive end. That helped offset his 4 turnovers and 4-14 performance from the field.
- Ricky Pierce doing what he did best. Coming off the bench to score 22 points. Ricky would win the 6th man of the year award for the 86-87 season. (Bonus Ricky Pierce fact: He played 39 games with the Bucks in the 97-98 season. Really?)
- Craig Hodges was only 1 of 3 from 3-point land, but 3 of 4 from inside the arc. I didn't know he shot 2's.
- A guy named Dudley Bradley played 14 minutes for the Bucks. This name does not even remotely ring a bell.
- Randy Breuer doing what he does best. Playing 9 minutes, scoring 2 points, grabbing 1 board and getting 3 fouls. Great job Randy. That line sums up your career.
- Phoenix had a bunch of JAGs on their roster, including future Bucks Jay Humphries (who was decent) and Ed Pickney (who wasn't decent).

Loving the Sikma spike!
I think that is some sort of Sikma/McIlvaine mutant.
I grew up in Central Illinois. Sikma is like a God down there. At least he is if you talk to a basketball fan instead of someone who would rather spend their time screwing pigs.
