Was Sal Fasano Involved in the Brewers Celebration Last Night?

Tom H. has checked into the rumor that JJ hurt his hand while jumping around like a little girl at home plate last night celebrating Braun's grand slam.

The Brewers response? Basically, no comment.

Tom thinks this means Hardy is actually hurt. It also could mean that Gord-o has no f'ing clue whether JJ is hurt or not, and wants to talk to JJ and the medical staff to see if there's anything to it. You know, like get the facts before talking to a reporter. What a concept.

Stay tuned. What a classic way for a Milwaukee Brewer to get hurt, if it's true.

TH is working on patenting the "jump to conclusions mat" as we speak.

You think the pet rock was a really great idea?

TH had to post something cause he was getting scooped by BF.net, his blog commenters and probably other sites and he's too insecure to wait until he has something firm to report.

I saw Doug Melvin at lunch (at Riverfront) and he didn't have any comment on the topic.

Hardy dislocated his thumb but is still in the line-up tonight. TH, you can take a step back from the ledge now.

Tom should stop speculating.

He'd be better served going with the facts once they are available.

Acting manager Dale Sveum fielded his usual lineup against a right-hander: Center fielder Mike Cameron led off followed by second baseman Ray Durham, left fielder Braun, first baseman Prince Fielder, Hardy, right fielder Corey Hart, third baseman Craig Counsell, catcher Jason Kendall and starter Jeff Suppan.

Why is Counsell at 3B? I thought that was just a Yost thing... I saw Russell Branyan is back with the team so WTF isn't he hitting against RHP? I know Hall can't hit RHP but I'd rather have him chase some crap for 3-4 AB than watch Counsell GIDP again and again. Isn't 3B supposed to be a power hitter? This running sub-plot has been driving me crazy ever since the Russ/Bill platoon @ 3rd was abandoned in favor of putting a banjo-hitting middle IF at the hot corner during the stretch run.

Someone with more knowledge than me please explain this to me, thank you.

Counsell -- I think the team/staff is caught up in this whole "he's a veteran and a 'gamer' who has played in big games before" -- this of course ignores that he is now old and not any good -- he played in past big games because he was younger and better. I do not understand it either.
