Really? Ugh.

I think the above Peanuts cartoon is a perfect analogy of what the Brewers have done to their fans this season. After 25 years of mostly terrible baseball, the Brewers had all of us believing this was the year the team finally made the playoffs. Last year gave the Brewers the experience they needed. The first 5 months of the season lead us to believe that they were going to make the playoffs. The ball was set up and this time Lucy was going to finally let us kick the ball. All we had to do was run up and kick the ball and we were in the playoffs. But, per usual, Lucy moved the ball. This September has been the worst month of baseball I can remember. Honestly, it ruined my excitement about the Badgers and Packers victories. Thanks Lucy. And by Lucy I mean Ned Yost, Corey Hart and the rest of those bums.

buck up. it's still tied and the brewers will finish with three against the cubs, who most likely will not pitch dempster, harden, z and maybe even lilly in that final series.

p.s. thanks for the hospitality at miller park tonight.

And, Bud with a nice little extra jab to the crotch by putting the Cubs here to have them celebrate a no-hitter in Milwaukee. I hope the few extra nickels in MLB's pockets were worth it.

Who boldly stated the Crew had the playoffs locked up? Did Chuckie Hacks jinx the Crew? Oh wait, we're managed by Ned Yost. NM.

Yost deserves to be canned but when does Melvin take his share of the blame? He thought bringing in Gagne was the answer to his bullpen problems. How many games has this bullpen blown?

After Chopper posted this garbage I knew we were fucked!! Thanks Brad.

Playoff Chances? A Lock!
It's officially time to print playoff tickets. Yup, your 2008 Milwaukee Brewers are playoff locks. Its' over...LOCKS, I say. No, this isn't any reverse psychology...it's the real deal. And yes, that would be a %100 flip-flop if you're scoring at home. I've gone from planning the Brewers funeral in May, to playoff lock in late August.

Even Ned can't screw this up. We hope.

Wake me when the playoffs start....football season starts tomorrow.

God... what's that smell??? It smells like... like the Brewers are pissing their pants! God damn, I thought they'd grown up, but no, they're still just a bunch of pants-wetting children.

This is the Brewers team I've been a fan of my whole life... Show enough promise to excite, and then fall apart. I'd be more angry if I weren't so used to it.

I'm going down with the ship. This isn't over until it's mathematically over.

The cubs will take care of the Astro's today to keep them 2 back.

The Phillies kicked our ass, but they caught us on a horrible slide.

The last time Ryan Braun made comments like he did yesterday we went on an epic tear. I expect the same starting tomorrow.

I believe Rambo said it best when Colonel Troutman told him to surrender:

"Nothing is over! Nothing! You just don't turn it off! It wasn't my war! You asked me, I didn't ask you! And I did what I had to do to win! But somebody wouldn't let us win!".

The person that won't let them win is Ned Yost, but they will win in spite of him.

Go Brewers.

I'm going down with the ship, too... I'm just reminding my self that this ship's gone down before... Kinda like a submarine.

Has anyone looked who the Phillies have left?

Hotlanta, Marlins, Hotlanta, Washington, K bye Brewers

I now become a fan of whoever the Cubs play in the 1st round of the playoffs, at least Zambrano isn't pitching that well after his arm injury, oh wait he threw a no no.

Being that I'm a bandwagon Brewer fan I think I will be jumping off at weeks end.

It's over. I'd prefer not to make the playoffs than make them with the team we have now and get swept. It'll be like those Bucks teams from a decade ago that always got swept in the first round so nobody remembered about it.

We need to lose 90% of our remaining games so that the major changes that need to be made just might happen. Finishing strong will only ensure that Yost and Melvin continue to get a free pass.

True. But it's important to remember that we're also fighting the Mets for the wild card. It's basically a 3-team race for two spots. They play Washington, Atlanta, Chicago and Florida. It's not a brutal schedule, but it's tougher than the Phillies'.

We play Cubs, Red, Pirates, Cubs. But the second time we play the Cubs, it's very likely they'll have the playoffs locked up and won't start they're big guns.

We only have to play better than the Phillies OR the Mets. I see our luck turning around. Go Brewers!

Why do I keep replaying in my head one of the final scenes from the movie 'Animal House' where a young Kevin Bacon, trying to control a rioting crowd raises his hands while crying "All is well! All is well!"?

C'mon Brewers. Get your effin' act together.

I would imagine if the Cubs only needed to win a single game to knock the Brewers out of the playoffs, they'd probably go for the win. Neither the Mets nor the Phillies have pitching in a short series the scares you very much, I think they'd rather just avoid Sabathia, Sheets, and Parra. Don't expect any favors.

it's not so much that the cubs would rest lee, ramirez, soriano, soto & co. instead, the rotation should be set up such that the brewers would get marshall, marquis and maybe lilly in that last series.

i can't imagine they'd see z, dempster or harden.

True, but if the Phillies or Mets get in, the Cubs would play the Phillies or Mets in the first round. If we get in, they play the Dodgers. And you could say the same thing about the Dodgers.

I have been a Brewers fan my entire life. In no way am I going to stop being a fan or wish they don't make the playoffs so changes are made. That is just ludicrris talk.
However, I think this is the most frustrated I have ever been as a sports fan. Outside of '92, the Brewers have never had a good team and a legit playoff shot in my lifetime. (Well, I was 5 in '82 and don't remember the ins and outs of that season). I invested a lot emotionally in this team and just feel like I got a major gut punch. I think its just a good time to take a step back right now and not hinge on every pitch.

"Its a grid, guys. 162 games becomes a grind. We've hit a little rough patch just like every other team in baseball does. That's all it is: nothing more, nothing less. Just a bump in the road. Tomorrow's game doesn't count for 3 wins in the standings. We'll go get them one at a time. We still control our own destiny...that's the bottom line here."
