More Things to Think About

Adding on to Woz's post about things to think about as the Brewers head into the Philly series:

The series features two teams contending for a Wild Card berth. One team is, according to this story:

1. Lacking consistency on offense.

2. Pressing to win games.

3. Suffering from a crumbling bullpen.

The other team is the Brewers.

Also, Jamie Moyer is pitching tonight for the Phillies. On three days' rest. Brett Myers may pitch Sunday for the Phillies. Also on three days' rest. I think they are not very happy with their 5th starter right now. I wonder if CC wants to pitch on Saturday on 1 days' rest?

Tonight pits Philly's 2nd best pitcher (Moyer) against the Brewers' 2nd best (Sheets). Advantage, Brewers, or so it would seem. Moyer has been crafty this year, and he's very experienced at age 45.

Tomorrow, a pair of young lefties go at it, with Parra and Cole Hamels on the hill. Advantage Phillies. Although Prince once hit a home run off of Hamels this year - maybe he can hit one more home run before the end of the season.

Then on Saturday it's Dave Bush vs. Joe Blanton. That's the same Dave Bush who was once compared to Joe Blanton by Doug Melvin in the offseason. Advantage, ??? (depends on which Bush shows up).

Sunday it's Jeff Suppan vs. TBD. Maybe Myers. Who went from being the #2 starter to being demoted to the minor leagues this year, and appears to have put it back together of late.

A split in this series is fine by me. We absolutely owe Moyer an ass whoopin' too, since he already dominated us once this year.

I laughed at "The other team is the Brewers"

Sounds like we share the same afflictions. (and I don't mean the herpe's)

Can someone please force feed Fatty McTurd Pants a fucking triple whopper with extra everything?!

On a side note: I realized today that I am #1 and #2 for a Google search of "Fatty McTurd Pants". I'm pretty sure that I now dominate all them shits.

The problem is that the Crew has a hard time with soft tossers. They win when they have people who are Fastball/Curve/Change types and can't hit the junkballers... Free-swingers have that problem.

I hope Moyer misses on some 78-mph heaters and they get crushed. Otherwise it's going to be a long nite if he's locating.

Soft tosser sounds like some kind of autoerotic disfunction.

@ clown, LMFAO...the office suite next door is knocking on my wall.

Reading the post from Melvin fluffing Bush/Blanton reminds me of when Vill was actually in the rotation. Ahh, the good old days.

brett myers has been badass lately...

6-2 in last 9 games. 1.64 ERA. which is very similar to someone's 1.59 ERA in his last 9 games.

Am I allowed to say that Ryan Howard is owning Ben Sheet's soul? If Prince wants Howard money, he better start producing like him.

Glad to see Corey really battle in perhaps the most important at-bat in the season to this point. One pitch, inning over.

Well, at least we got a big outing from our All Star pitcher. Oh wait, lit up like a Christmas tree.

Well, at least we have a manager who will right this ship. Ooops, I'm 0 for 3.

Guys, come on. We battled out there, took some good cuts and came out on the short end of things. Moyer knows what he's doing. He changed speeds well...you have to tip your hat to him. We'll grind and battle tomorrow and see what Bushie can do.

Hart has been just brutal in the second half. Not Hall brutal, but brutal. The fans don't bury him as much as the other guys, but I think it's his hick, WT look that keeps those from South Milwaukee, Racine and Waukesha from getting on his back.

Dont forget about us...

I agree with that- He's beloved because he's a White-trash country boy, just like most of WI is/wishes they were... I hate the glorification of anti-intellectualism in this state. Bunch of regressionists. Not that it's confined to this state

Wow do you drive a hybrid prius too?

Anonymous said...

No, I drive a truck, kill my own food, and enjoy tractor pulls. But the glorifcation of ignorance still sickens me. So, to put it in a simple term that someone like you or Corey can understand, "Fuck You".

Oh now I understand, I didn't get it when you use such big big words.

Haha!

Sorry, dude... The last few weeks have just had me on edge.
