Enough talk about football - what really needs to happen tonight is for the Brewers to start putting bat on ball and scoring some damn runs. It's actually quite incredible that the Brewers managed to split that series with the Padres, given that they scored a grand total of 7 runs in the 4-game series.
Good thing the Reds have Volquez going tonight. F me.

I'm a paranoid sonofabitch to begin with... but I'm getting worried.
The team is talented, but for whatever reason they're pissing themselves, and I've been a brewer fan long enough that I remember what a slide feels like.
At this point I don't care what they have to do... Just make the playoffs. Hopefully tonigh Bush won't hang to many curveballs/throw too many BP fastballs... I know he'll give up at least one homer; I just want Prince Fupa and Braun to get back on track... And I hate saying this, but I'm done with Billy Hall. Play Gamel, Br*d N#ls&n, Counsell... damn, even Mike Lamb.
Ok, I feel a little better
Braun, Fielder, Hart, Hardy - one of these guys needs to get hot.
Brad should put up a "Brewers are Done, Version 2.0" post.
Agreed.
To me, Sunglasses At Night hasn't been the same since the all-star break. That may just be my perception.
I have to say that the play Weeks made on Friday made me feel vindicated in my frequent defense of him... Now if only he could use all that ability consistently....
The wildcard lead is shrinking, and it's more than likely because they've taken their feet off the proverbial gas.
Ned needs to get Prince's attention, and if I were him I'd bat Cameron (assuming he's ready to play again) 4th and move Prince back to 5th for a game or two. With Prince's horrendous slump (21 games since a homer and only one double in that span) teams are able to pitch around Braun.
Can we put Braun back at 3rd for the rest of the season & start Kapler in LF?
They COULD, but no, there's no way it'd happen. If we've had our problems with Billy, Braun would make us miss him (defensively). The only place Braun may ever move would be right field (maybe first if his legs go)...
Only one good thing happens if the Brewers piss away this season and don't make the playoffs - Special Ned would have to be fired. There's no possible way you could keep him around if this season becomes that disastrous.
True.
Here's a question to the Ned Haters- Using Plesac's posit, would you rather make the playoffs and be stuck with Yost for more years or miss and get the chance at a better manager?
One important thing to remember before everyone jumps off of a ledge:
The Brewers have 19 games left - CC and Sheets should start 8 of them if they both stay healthy.
I'm not jumping off any ledges... I did preface everything by stating that I'm a paranoid bastard...
Just concerned.
As much as I hate Yost there is no way I would passup the playoffs just to get rid of him.
What me, worry?
