After Further Review, My God That Call Was Terrible

The WAC is going to review that idiotic instant replay reversal in the Wisconsin-Fresno State game that almost cost UW a big victory.

When they review it, I predict they are going to see what I saw - the worst instant replay reversal that I've ever seen.

That was huge, especially since Fresno State broke a huge play right after that call. Which was worse: The call in the Badger game or Hoculi's call in the Denver/SD game?

Give Hochuli a rest, dude. At least have the decency to spell his name right if you are going to drag it through the mud.

They were both bad. The Hochuli call was bigger, because it directly led to San Diego's loss.

But I think just looking at the call (and not the game circumstances) the WAC call was worse, because the officials on the field actually got the call right but the replay official overturned it after having the benefit of looking at it for 5 minutes.

I apologize to Tim, who is obviously Ed's dad. Also, it would be drag "him" through the mud, yes?

I agree, the WAC call was worse. HOCHULI(!) didn't have the chance to make the correct call because of the wistle. He knew what happened, but couldn't overturn it. The WAC officials got to look at it and had every opportunity to make the right call and screwed it up. I thought that was going to cost Bucky the game.

No, it would be "it." The noun at issue is his name, not him.

I'd like to change my original comment to, "Yes, I agree Matt it was a bad call."

There, I sincerely hope we're good now.

I would like to see AP, or anyone else for that matter, try to drag Ed Hochuli through the mud.

They need to test that dude for PEDs.

Wrigleyville, is that you posing as Dannynoonan?

Anonymous,
Wrigleyville is a place. I am a person. I don't believe anyone would confuse me with the Lincoln Park neighborhood surrounding Wrigley Field. That just doesn't make sense.

The blogger ya moron.

I agree with Matt's 2nd statement. Ed Haquelee is a large man.

No worries, ap. I just didn't see what a bad call in the Chargers game had to do with the replay mess in Fresno, I also feel bad for the guy - he messed up and admitted it. There is nothing more he can do.

The replay mess, as Matt mentioned and I agreed, was far worse. I just wonder what these refs are seeing/thinking when they do these things.

I wonder what the ref was trying to prove when he called that celebration penalty in that Washington game last week on a kid who scored the tying TD in the last few seconds and did not celebrate.

I wonder what the replay official saw, that not one of the 50 people or so I was watching the Badger game with saw.

I wonder what Hochuli saw that didn't make him think a pass that went backwards was a fumble. I also wonder why under 2 minutes he blew the whistle, when he couldve just let the play unfold and then have the booth look at it.

It just seemed to me there's been a lot of this lately, and it wasn't even in the NBA. Lastly, I think Ed is great. I definitely don't want him mad at me.

The only solution I see here is to call your own fouls. I can't remember this ever leading to problems on the basketball court.
