Adam Dunn Will probably not be a Blue Jay any time soon

According to several Blue Jays' blogs (Tao of Steib, Drunk Jays Fans) Toronto GM, J.P. Ricciardi is not a big Adam Dunn fan. Apparently, every Wednesday night, the GM takes phone calls from listeners on a radio show. Fans are fed up with the team's lack of offense and one caller asked J.P.why the Jays were not making a push for Adam Dunn. J.P.'s response was interesting to say the least:

"What do you know about Adam Dunn? . . . Did you know the guy doesn't really like baseball that much? Do you know the guy doesn't have a passion to play the game that much? How much do you know about the player? . . . I don't think you'd be very happy if we brought Adam Dunn in here. I think you'd be one of the guys calling me up on Wednesday night complaining about all of the deficiencies that the guy has."

Wow, that is a pretty strong statement. I am sure J.P. is fed up with the team's lack of offense and hearing about from the "interesting" people that tend to call into his show and just lost it for a bit. While I admire his candor, I don't think those are they kind of things you want to say if you are a GM of a Major League Baseball team.
Reading some Jays blogs, it just seems depressing to follow that team right now. Case in point, I direct you to the post about last night's game on Drunk Jays Fans. That is not a pleasant sight.
Hey, at least they will have the Bills in the near future.

I think he's using it to remind Dunn why he doesn't care about baseball.

The best part of this story is that the Reds visit Toronto for a 3-game series starting next Tuesday.

That is nice. I would like to see Dunn go off up there.
