A few weeks ago, Ned was toying with the idea of getting crafty and bat Jason Kendall 9th and the pitcher 8th. Well, D-Backs manager Bob Melvin is going a step further. Pitcher Micah Owings mashes so well, Melvin might bat him 7th during his starts. 7th! For a pitcher! It’s safe to say I’ve never herd of that in my lifetime. You really can’t blame him though, check out the numbers. This guy does mash. How about having a pitcher in 60 at bats collect: 20 hits (.333 avg), 4 homers, 15 RBIs, and 7 doubles! Hell, screw 7th. In that lineup I’d bat him cleanup.
