Being a Cubs Pitcher is Dangerous Business

This from ESPN.com's Spring Training blog

CUBS RELIEVER KNOCKED AROUND (6:04 p.m. ET)

Cubs reliever Jose Ascanio sported a black eye Sunday after being punched by someone trying to rob him at a Scottsdale, Ariz., convenience store Saturday night. He was not seriously injured, however, and was scheduled to throw Monday.

"He went over to Circle-K last night and evidently somebody … he got punched a few times by a guy who was looking for some money," manager Lou Piniella said, according to the Chicago Tribune. "He didn't get robbed," Piniella said, according to the paper, adding that the perpetrator eluded arrest. "The guy asked for money and evidently the young man said 'I don't have any money,' and the guy punched him a few times. So he went over to the hospital. His [left] eye was closed and he had some swelling on the left side of his face."

I wonder if the guy looked anything like Michael Barrett?

I don't think Barrett shops at the Circle-K. He's too busy doing the "Circle-J"
