Packers sign Thompson to new 5-year deal

In a move that Matt will certainly be excited with, the Packers signed GM Ted Thompson to a new 5 year deal. I'll let Packer Chairman Bob Harlen explain why...if you didn't know:

“We are very pleased with the way Ted Thompson has led the football operations of this organization,” Harlan said in the statement. “He is doing exactly what we anticipated when we hired him. He crafted his trade under Ron Wolf, built a strong football team in Seattle and has built a team here in Green Bay that is back in the playoffs. He has a great system of building the team through the draft and has the Packers positioned very well for the future.”

Dear Ted,

We need you. Hell, I need you. I'm a mess without you. I miss you so damn much. I miss being with you, I miss being near you. I miss your laugh. I miss your scent; I miss your musk. When this all gets sorted out, I think you and me should get an apartment together.

I blame Ned Yost for this.

Why extend a guy for 5 years before they even play a playoff game? It's not like there's a better job out there for TT to get.

Matt, so if the Packers lose, it's TTs fault? You dont want to give him any credit for the wins, but cant wait to give him the blame for a loss?

Isn't that what we do with Yost around here?
