If he would have added in a statement that the Brewers need to improve their defense to contend but shouldn't be going after Scott Rolen, then this would be complete.
One thing seems pretty certain: The Brewers won't be trading for a closer. When I asked Melvin about that prospect, he said, "We have a closer. Derrick Turnbow."

On the plus side, the stock of BP and Citgo has skyrocketed on speculation that Turnbow's need for gas to keep his can filled will quadruple.
What else are they going to say at this point in time?
How about: "We have no idea who our closer is at this point in time."

A guy on SI.com says the Brewers and Astros are after Eric Gagne.
gee, Turnbow's gas can or Gagne's. That's like saying would you rather be shot or stabbed.
