Mike Sherman: New Texas A&M Coach

The Aggies just hired our old friend Mikey Sherman as head coach. His first order of business was to offer schollys to 6 punters, recruit Cletius Hunt's kid, and make Samkon Gado the RB's coach.

I picture Sherman being like Luther from Coach as a college head coach. First act of business... treat the entire team to lunch. ooops

How does Turd Ferguson fit into this mix?

BJ Sander has Special Teams coach written all over him. And Sherman will fall asleep on the couch during at least five home visits to highly touted recruits.

I think he'll do well with the program. He'll lead them to win the big 12 title next year but subsequently that same team will lose their bowl game to Poop Stain State University. By then D-III teams will be calling him left and right.

(Anybody notice this downward trend?)

Does Sherman have any history at the College level? What does he know about recruiting?

Totally different ballgame...I hope he fails miserably and his gigantic ass doubles again in size miraculously over the summer months.

The Sherman tank was a position coach back in the day with the Aggies and his name has been thrown around a lot in the state of Texas with him being with the Texans- if this correlates into recruiting who knows? Apparently he was the only canidate they interviewed so he must have something up his sleeve?

Yup....and his coaching tenure there and familiarity with the A&M program was what swayed the Packers front office into drafting Robert Ferguson because he played there. Shermie has said that his two dream jobs were to coach the Pack as well as the Aggies; it seems that the state of Texas will always guarantee that this guy always has a safe landing somewhere. When A&M gets rid of him, he could probably get a job at UTEP or TCU or something.

This would be another good time for me to profess my love for TT and McCarthy....

My wife (who cares nothing for sports) saw this on the news last night and asked me - "didn't he used to coach our team? Why would he take a college job? Isn't that a backwards move?"

I just giggled.

He will be coaching a high school in Waco in 5 years. Book it.
