People in Mequon are Stupid

This is a given for anyone who grew up in Port. However, for the rest of you, I give you a concrete (ha - I'm funny) example...from the JS Online:

As many as 10 vehicles drove around barriers and onto freshly poured concrete on Mequon Road, and two of them got stuck, Mequon police said today.

"Once someone goes around the barricade and busts through the tape, others follow," Sgt. Tony Restivo said.

According to Restivo:The incident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on westbound Mequon Road beneath the I-43 overpass. Several drivers apparently realized quickly what they had done and were able to get back onto the paved roadway. But the drivers of a 2004 Lexus and a 2004 Mercury Marquis continued on until their cars became stuck and had to be towed.

The company that poured the concrete is estimating that replacing it will cost $20,000.Police are still deciding whether to issue tickets to the two drivers. Residents have complained bitterly about the construction. The project has resulted in snarled traffic at the busy interchange and along Mequon Road -- one of the busiest thoroughfares in the city.

How do I know these cars had drivers from Mequon? I don't - but several factors lead me to believe this to be true:
  • It was 6:30 p.m. - nobody who doesn't live in Mequon would be trying to get through that disaster of an intersection unless they lived there and had no choice.
  • Impatient a-holes breaking through barriers and driving through wet concrete - has "Mequon resident" written all over it.
  • 2004 Lexus is a sure bet to be from Mequon - less sure about the 2004 Mercury Marquis...so maybe 9 of 10 vehicles were driven by Mequon-ites
