Apparently, Melvin found a loophole in the bereavement list. Usually guys can only go on this list for family deaths or emergencies (surgery). Dougie petitioned the league to see if Linebrink could get on it because his wife had a C-Section. It worked! Doug 1, MLB offices 0.
