Tonight's Lineup

Looks like a Varsity Reserve lineup, not quite JV, but not the full Monte either. I guess Ponch is out with an "ailing hamstring." Sure wasn't because of last nights half-assed effort in the 11th.

2B Rickie Weeks
SS Craig Counsell
3B Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
RF Kevin Mench
LF Geoff Jenkins
C Damian Miller
CF Tony Gwynn Jr.
RHP Yovani Gallardo

Tonight's opposing pitcher: Some Belisle (5-6, 5.13) guy whom I personally saw get lit up light a Christmas tree in Cincinnati. He is not good.

Uhhh...maybe I'm an idiot, but an ailing hamstring is a serious injury for a catcher.

Put his ass on the DL for 2 weeks and call up Rivera.

This is a horrible admitted mistake by Yost. Probably the worst of the year. There is no debate now. Estrada should not have batted in that situation, and probably shouldn't have even been in the game in the first place. He isn't that spectacular of an offensive player that we need him to play through injuries.

I'm officially on the bandwagon that if the Brewers don't make the Playoffs this year Yost must be fired.

I am also officially going to Pee my Pants when the Brewers do make the Playoffs.

End of Rant.

I put quotes around the injury just thinking that perhaps he got benched because of his non-hustle down the line. If he is hurt, I would like to see what Rivera could bring. He was pretty decent (offensivly) last year.

I actually think this is a big move on Yost's part, to make that kind of a public statement. He's basically jumping on a grenade on behalf of Johnny, who has been getting ripped for his non-effort out of the box last night. Stuff like this can only help team chemistry in the clubhouse.

Whether you agree or disagree with his tactical maneuvers at certain times (I agree that if he's hurt, you have to pinch hit for Estrada there) Yost gets it when it comes to dealing with his players. And doesn't care what dopes like us think about his decisions, which is as it should be.

This series could be the end of the Brewers season as we know it. Thankfully Skip Shumaker hit a 2-run triple.

So....everyone's done ripping the catcher for not hustling then?

The reason that Miller didn't start in his place is because he had a hang nail. We need J.D. Klosser back. Was anyone at the Spring Training game where he fired the "round the horn" ball into left field?
