A Big Win, Obviously

Carlos says: "Bring yo shit, biznitches!!"

  • Anybody else catch Glue drop about 6 “obviously’s” in a 1 minute pregame interview? That never gets old.
  • Chuck has grande cohones, man. Big. Steel. Balls. That 8th inning bases loaded jam he got in, and out of, was crazy. Packed house on a Tuesday night…felt like a situation in September. Two huge innings, 5 Ks.
  • Does Vargas just grind through innings, or what? His starts are like watching the NFL draft….painfully slow.
  • Matt Wise, tonight’s closer?
  • I find tonight’s pitching matchup quite hilarious: Cappy vs Doug Davis. Isn’t that the exact same guy?? Career ERA’s: 4.34 and 4.32. They could switch unis without anyone noticing. Nibble, nibble, nibble…nobody would say a thing.

Brad, Ap and other Yost haters,

Question if Carlos dosn't get out of that jam do you bitch today about Yost's mismanaging his pitchers by leaving him in too long? Or do you give Yost his due today by saying nice work sticking with the best set-up/ middle reliever in the game? What do you do?

I probably rip him for not bringing in Wise for the last out in the 8th. "Best set-up man in the game?" I love him, but doubtful.

Nubs and other Yost Lovers. In this question I asume you give Yost his due? In fact Nubs, have you ever questioned Yost's decisions?

Capuano needs to go deep into tonight's game, or we may be seeing the major league debut of both Manny Parra and Ball-Four tonight...

The Brewers offense could make it easier by making Doug Dangerous throw strikes, rather than swinging at his cutter out of the zone. If any team should know how to hit this guy, it's the Brewers. They had to sit in the field and watch him nibble on the outside corner for years.

Ned is pushing the right buttons again...

Is Davis' arm cashed?

I meant to put up here today that Yost has done a great job since the All-Star break in handling the bullpen. There was a time when the Brewers weren't scoring runs earlier in the season (lost 20 of 30) and they weren't winning either. Take the same situation now when they aren't scoring runs, but they are winning games and the difference is Ned's handling of the pitchers. He's going to have to do it for longer than a 5 game stretch before I am on the "Viva Yost" bandwagon, but yes Yost did a great job last night. Of course if he would've done this earlier we might've won a few more games as well. I liked very much seeing him rather than Moustache Mike go out to the mound last night for "visits." He is going to have to bite the bullet here eventually though and actually use Parra or 4-0. And Nubs I would not bitch today about leaving Villanueva in too long, but I was bitching last night that Yost basically let him load the bases without having anyone warmed up (Familiar?) in the bullpen. If CV does get in trouble in that inning, that game's 6-3 before a reliever is ready to go.

Apparently the Spanish pronunciation of "Villanueva" translates to "Big, beautiful balls" in English. I swear I thought it was "new village" or "new house."

Any comments on how cool it was, in sort of a minimalistic way, that there was dead silence on FSN when they cut to commercial after CV got out of that inning last night? Seriously, DSutton might've injured himself if he was in the booth for that. I just thought that was a good move to just show the crowd cheering rather than "c'mon boys...let's get 'em some runs!"
