Cubs at the Keg

With the Cubs coming to town, thought I'd dig up my old post about why I don't hate Cubs fans. Enjoy, and remember - Cubs fans are people too. Annoying, misinformed and generally obnoxious people...but people nonetheless.

Should be an interesting series - although it can't be as interesting as the Cubs' previous series against Atlanta, which probably has to go in the top 5 of most bizarre baseball series of all time.

That was a weird series...almost as weird as that minor league manager's meltdown.

Matt, I like how you manage to champion the cause of the Cubs fan....and then manage to completely dehumanize them in the same sentance.

I'm not nearly as torn on the subject. Cubs fans suck. They're team is the archtype for losers, and they lap it up and beg for more. They're stadium is a dump. People around the country think of their team when they hear the word, "loser". They blame a "curse" for their problems, and not their players' ineffectiveness. I make it my goal to "get into it" w/ the most obnoxious Cubs fan I can find at every game I go to.

As Brewers' fans, we do not need to blame a curse for 25 years of ineptitude, we have the the ability to state that our roster was flat out crap for most of that time and that is why we have sucked so bad.

Speaking for the Chicago National League Ball Club and Cubs fans everywhere (yes, they exist in more than six counties - unlike some teams), I can say thank you for the concern and thought you put into all that is Cubdom. It is quaint.
