I Had a Weird Dream Last Night

I had a dream last night.

I dreamed that it was May 8th, and the Brewers were 23-10 and lapping the field in the NL Central.

I dreamed that their big free agent signing, Jeff Suppan, was living up to every penny of his contract by notching 5 wins in the first 5 weeks of the season. Franklin Stubbs and Jeffrey Hammonds, he was not, at least in my dream.

I dreamed that Jerry James Hardy was hitting the cover off the baseball, hitting .341 with 9 home runs. It is May 8th.

I dreamed that Prince Fielder was second in the league in both home runs and RBIs.

I dreamed that Rickie Weeks was looking like Robbie Alomar over at second base, making every easy play and loads of tough plays as well.

I dreamed that Geoff Jenkins had a new nickname, The Glue.

I dreamed that The Glue and Kevin Bench were actually playing nice, and the outfield platoon that isn't a platoon has led to a highly productive left and right field spots in the lineup.

I dreamed that Johnny Estrada has made the catcher spot in the lineup more than an automatic out.

I dreamed that Ned Yost was pushing all of the right buttons.

I dreamed that Derrick Turnbow had a sub 2 ERA and was among the league leaders in strikeouts for relievers, and Francisco Cordero just gave up his first earned run of the season. On May 8th. I dreamed that he was, naturally, perfect in save chances this year and led the major leagues in saves.

I dreamed that the Brewers were winning despite the fact that Weeks, Hall and Sheets really hadn't gotten it going yet.

I dreamed that the Brewers were winning with a platoon at third base involving Craig Counsell and Tony Graffanino.

I dreamed that the Brewers had two of the top minor league prospects in baseball waiting in the wings in case of an injury to a pitcher or position player.

I just thought I'd share. It was really a weird dream.
