Crappy Opening Day Starters

I always like to peruse the opening day pitching matchups...it's a good barometer of your starting staff. Here are some gems that will be taking the bump tomorrow:

Jeff Cook, COL: 9-15 last year. Looks like another solid rotation for the Rocks this year.

Carl Pavano, NYY: 2006, zero pitches thrown. $200 million payroll and this guy is their opening day starter??

John Patterson, WASH: He's not terrible, but Patterson better win every start this year...the rest of the staff might win about 20 games combined.

And last but not least...Gil Meche, KC. Yes, it's your favorite $11 million per year pitcher. Think about it. $55 million for a guy who would be the Brewers #5 starter. Good job Gil!
