News Flash

This from Cubs correspondent Tony Matera: Mark Prior left today's extended spring training start in the second inning with right shoulder soreness. He will fly to California to see an orthopaedic surgeon tomorrow.

I can't even think of a joke for this any more. They've all been told.

Wow. Did not see that coming at all. Next thing you know, Kerry Wood might get injured.

So Prior sees Dr. Lewis Yocum for his arm troubles, and Wood sees Dr. James Andrews. Wonder why the Cubs don't just go with one or the other, and maybe get a package deal for the two?

To me it's hilarious when you go to a Miller Park Brewers/Cubs game and there are 2,000 Cubs fans wearing either a Prior or Wood jersey. These guys were good like 5 years ago, and it would be the equivalent of me going with a Cal Eldred jersey. I always end up pretty much just breaking into uncontrolable laughter everytime I see one of those clowns in those jerseys, because you know they actually believe they are both going to get healthy and win like 20 games each.
Also, I don't want to hear baseball analysts talk about the Cubs post season chances and say, "....if Prior and Wood can stay healthy." News Flash: They CAN'T! On the April 6th Cubs game I actually heard a Cubs fan teasing Ben Sheets about his injuries over the last 2 years. I was so dumbstruck with irony I couldn't respond......
