Albers vs. Sheets

The Astros have called up Matt Albers from AAA to pitch against Ben Sheets and the Brewers in the series opener. Albers is taking the place of injured Jason Jennings.

Let's see if we can wipe that goofy grin off this guy's face tonight.

I should say that it always makes me nervous when the Brewers face some new pitcher fresh from the minors. It always seems like these guys 2-hit the Crew, at least in the past. Throw in the retro unis and a bobble head night, and this has the makings of a disaster.

Matt you are %100 correct. These no namers always look like Clemens and Pedro Vs. the crew (See-Reyes St. Louis circa 2006)(See also-Bonser, Boof circa 2006), and we always manage to make Clemens & Pedro look like no namers. (See-Hall, Bill opposite field HR off of Martinez at Shea) We lose tonight, win a squeaker on Sat., and then we will crush Oswalt for like 9 runs on Sunday. I always wondered why division teams like the 'stros didn't just sign like 18 AA pitchers to face us once every time we play them. We might win 2 out of 18 if they did that. Why is it our AAA pitchers always get crushed? (See-Hendrickson, Ben entire career.)

Adam, what do you mean? Dana Eveland had plenty of great outing for us? Ha.

I remember some outing last year during Turnbow's meltdown when they plugged in Eveland as the closer. I don't think I can accurately describe the look on DE's face. He looked like he was being attacked by a a mountain lion riding a bear. He didn't blink the entire 9th inning. Needless to say he did not get the save.

Ben has had two sub-par performances since his opening day stunner. I expect good things from him tonight...

You guys should find some inside info on Bill Hall. The guys in the locker room have got to be making fun of him for looking like Soriano in centerfield.
