Bye Bye Brady

The Brewers finally unloaded Captain Popup (aka Brady Clark), trading him to the Dodgers for Elmer Fudd. Or Dessens. Or whatever.

The important thing is, I won't have to watch Brady Clark play baseball for my team any longer. I don't know who the backup CF will be. I don't care. Since Brady is not a good defensive outfielder, does not hit for power, is not a good pinch hitter, has no speed, and has no other discernible talent on the baseball diamond, I am glad he is off the roster.

I forgot - Brady was good at getting hit by pitches

FYI - Dessens was one of the big Free Agent signings for the Royals last season. He is not terrible, so he has that going for him.

In Doug we trust. Trading terrible players for less than terrible players. I suppose Gross is now the backup CF - which is nice. I like Gabe. And his Christian rock anthem that blares before each at bat.

I like it. in Doug we trust.

I think it is a great pick, I just wish it was for Mench. Say what you will I could be wrong about this but I think Brady has more potential or that may be the wrong word a better chance to return to form then Meat does.

Oh well, in the end Elmer is more major league depth in the rotation/ pen, By trading for Major league talent and going away from the “prospects” it is clear the Crew think they have something special and are gearing up for a real run at it.

I like it.

Elmer will start on Cervacos Day. Book It!

By the way, I am 100% certain that my spelling of Cervacos is wrong. This is because I took 3 semesters of Dutch at Madison. Why? I don't know. People in the Netherlands don't even speek Dutch. Heaven forbid I would have taken something useful like spanish.

I have no idea what T-Mat was trying say, but the words "Brady" and "potential" never belong together. Clark sucks.

Anonymous?

Show your face or don't post. How can I know who I disagree or even in some small cases agree with?

Thank you for this small consideration.

Brady Clark has the worst salary Vs. unit of output ratio in the league. 3.8 million for 2 HR's, 2SB, and a bunch of singles? He'd have to bat .450 to offset the lack of speed and talent. Trading him for a Prince Fielder rookie card would've been a good trade, and we got an actual player. Amazing trade, Doug. I don't know which Brewer I now hate most....

Adam,

If you are formally anonymous I salute you. This is a fine argument and by signing your name to it I know who to congratulate and look forward to reading more of your well articulated insights on the crew. The most important rule of thumb when discussing the crew in my mind is that no matter where you fall on a particular topic in Doug we trust.

As for what Brewer to hate now, great question. We have discussed the potential breakouts on this team how about who is most likely to pull a Brady/ Wes Helms this year. I fear it will come out of the bull pen, or worse I hope it isn’t Bush.

Thoughts?

Tony, I was NOT anonymous, I am just a long time "Trade-me" Clark Hater. I'll give you the In Doug we trust, but to be fair he also did give him the contract in the first place.

As for the next Helms/Clark award, Turnbow is a strong canidate but that seems too easy. I'm thinking Hardy....perhaps another IR stay this year and he's got it for sure.

Anybody is free to post...even if anonymously.

Here's guessing it's Suppan. A couple of bad outings and everyone will be complaining about that contract. Keep in mind, he pitched a TON of inning last year with the deep playoff run. Will it affect him in 2007? Just throwing it out there.

Brady Clark lined into a Triple Play last night. I know it is only spring training, but still,he finds new and exciting ways to suck.
