Watch Hockey Tonight

My guy Jagr says Game 7 of Lord Stanley's Cup is on tonight. He's a die-hard Pens fan, so has considerable interest. Either he'll A) drink heavily in celebration, or B) drink heavily from losing Game 7. I'll give it a shot and watch.

Everyone, SING IT!!!

Well I went down to my local arena.
I asked to see the manager man.
He came from his office and said, "Son can I help you?"
I looked at him and said, "Yes you can."

'Cause I wanna drive the zamboni.
I wanna drive the zamboni.
(Yes I do.)

Since I was young it's been my dream
to drive that there zamboni machine.
I'd get that ice just as slick as could be,
and all the kids would look up to me.

'Cause I wanna drive the zamboni.
I wanna drive the zamboni.
(Yes I do.)
The manager said, "Son, I know it looks keen,
but that right there is one expensive machine.
And we've got Smokey who's been driving for years."
About that time, I broke down in tears.

'Cause I wanna drive the zamboni.
I wanna drive the zamboni.
'Cause I wanna drive the zamboni.
I wanna drive the zamboni.
(Yes I do.)

I saw some guy wearing a Penguins jersey on a flight last weekend to Detroit. It was baby blue. It said "Crosby" on the back - apparently Crosby is kind of a big deal in some circles.

Do the Penguins actually have baby blue uniforms now, or was this a G thing like when you see people rolling around with the all red Brewers hats?

"Breakfasts come and go, Rene, but Hartford... the Whale? Hey, they only beat Vancouver once, maybe twice in a lifetime"

I have to admit that I DVR'd the game so I could watch it when I got home from the Brewers game. I started watching at the beginning of the 3rd period. Yes, the Wings cut it to one, but they were not able to mount a serious attack after that until the last 6 seconds. After giving up a big rebound, Flurey, who has teeth that look like Matt Dillion's in Something About Mary, dove across the crease to stop a shot. It was a nice save. I can't say it was a great 3rd period, but a solid Game 7. The Stanley Cub is an awesome trophy.

I went to the saturday and sunday games.

The main thing i took away from the weekend is this- Brewers fans really, really suck. At the game, i mean. All the White Sox fans were polite, and if they said anything negative, it was in good fun. The frat boy douchebag fans ended up being Brewers fans. I nearly got in a fight with a crew fan who was harassing a Sox fan.

Honestly, this is stupid. I never want to read about how bad Cubs fans are until we start policing ourselves. I don't remember games in Milwaukee being like this before i moved to Oregon; Maybe the recent improvements are a part of it, maybe it's because the face of the team is a swaggering young guy in Braun. I don't care. We're Brewers fans. We should be better than picking on girls in shirts of the opposing team, intentionally spilling our beer on them and then acting all macho to the boyfriend that rushes to her defense.

I'm sure clown or someone will make fun of me for this, but... This weekend, I was embarassed.

Most of the idiots are the guys who only started going to games 2 years ago and think they own MP or something.

Was cool to watch the players' kids play on the field before the game and take batting practice. Cameron's kid is going to be a stud. Best hitter by far of all the mini Brewers. Gotta love the afros on Prince's 2 kids as well. And Yovanni Jr. had the best time of anyone. Just running around and talking to everyone.

How could you possibly show a screen shot of anything other than the original nintendo Ice Hockey? Disgrace.

Matt,
Yes they do have a Baby Blue Penguin 3rd Jersey. They went back Retro to the original colour scheme. I guess it also is a good reflection of the cry babies that are on the team as well.
