MLB.com talks about the Brewers interest in free agent Adam Dunn. Apparently, that interest is over:
But with Cameron and his $10 million salary in the fold, and Ryan Braun a franchise cornerstone in left field, the only way for the Brewers to fit a hitter like Dunn into the outfield would be trading right fielder Corey Hart. Melvin is not willing to do so.
I have to ask, who would you rather have - Dunn or Hart? Notes: Dunn would be more expensive, worse on the base paths and bad in the outfield....but...Hart was terrible in the 2nd half , and a general douchebag with the fans- will his downfall continue into this year?
Dunn: 40 bombs, 100 RBI, .386 on-base, .513 slugging
Hart: 20 bombs, 91 RBI, .300 on-base, .459 slugging.

Fuck Corey Hart. I think we should sell official Chuckie Hacks T-shirts that say that. I would purchase one.
mlb trade rumors (i think that's where i saw it) seemed to suggest dunn could be had for $5 million a year. that seems obscenely low, though the nationals could keep his price artificially high.

If Dunn is only $5 million, Melvin should sign him in a heartbeat.
Does Dunn still have eligibility left, the Badgers could use a QB.
Keep Hart to keep the hayseeds happy. All the fat 40-something women singing along to his country at-bat song drive me crazy.
I fucking hate Corey Hart
after some of the things Cory Hart said last year about the "bad fans" in Milwaukee I would like to see him shipped to somewhere like Kansas City where he will be forgotten or else keep him so fans can BOO him every game.
I would take Dunn hands down.
They are definitely two different kinds of players...but overall Dunn's value is better. I like them both however. Tough call.
At what point do we give Hart a pass on his putrid end of year run last year? He'll be fine this year.
i like the idea of getting dunn if it means him or hart will be playing first base and tubby(prince) will be traded for a nice starting pitcher. dunn would be alot cheaper then prince as well the way it looks. i don think 5 million cheap but id like a 3 year 21 mil type deal. he has 1 intangible that no current brewer does. he gets on base.
Trade fielder and put Dunn at first.
You should make shirts that say "Hart is a douche | Go Brewers!"
Seems wierd that nobody thinks Dunn strikes out too much, and that we can't add another K-Happy guy to a lineup that already strikes out too much. Usually that's mentioned quite a bit by now.
Dunn is better. I'll take Dunn.
Braun, Fielder, Dunn batting 3-4-5?
wow, i don't get why theres so much hatred for hart. guys good, he won't be the last player to go in a two month slump, just happened at a bad time.
Hey, Graf... Corey Hart is hated because he is a retarded, inbred, dumb fucker. He's a good baseball player, but don't bitch about the fans when WE send you to the All-Star game. Fuck Him. Give me Adam Dunn and his five million strikeouts.
His on field play is not the issue. He still finished with respectable numbers even after his terrible finish.
The problem is his comments in regards to the Milwaukee fans that voted millions of times to put him into the All-Star game. unfortunately, I think he's to much of a backward donkey raping hick to even realize what he said offended people.
no, i see your point about him talking shit about the fans, that was out of line. but i'd take him on the crew over dunn anyday, but i've never been a fan of dunn, he's another all or nothing guy to me.
His comments about the fans were just asinine. I could ovelook that as him just sayign something stupid out of frustration. I can overlook his 2 month slump. What killed me was his at-bat with the bases loaded against the Cubs in game 162 and his AB in the first inning of Game 2 against the Phillies. In game 162 he came up with the bases loaded in the 7th and swung at 3 pitches that were not near the strike zone and he was about a foot away from each pitch. The AB in the Playoffs was just terrible. Hardy draws a 5 pitch walk with the only strike being the just get it over 3-0 pitch to load the bases. On the first pitch Hart hits a dribbler back to the pitcher on a weak swing for a DP to kill any kind of Brewers rally. If you are going to swing at that pitch, you better take a real swing. After that he said something like he doesn't go up to the plate to look at pitches. Put all of that together and he is a giant douche or a turd sandwich, which ever you like.
Yeah Goldy. It was something like "I'm not going to sit and walk. That's not me."
Oh really? What is you? .300 OBP with the best speed on the team? Did you want to be a power hitter? Because you're not you fucktard.
And I don't give a shit about Dunn's Ks...his OBP is 86 points higher than Hart's, and he's the only guy to hit 40+ Hrs in each of the last FIVE (5) seasons. All or nothing? His BB/K is .74, BB% 19.1%. Hart? BB/K .25, BB% 4.2%. Dunn would instantly have the highest OBP on the team (surpassing Fielder), and probably walk more than anyone else on the team.
Corey Hart is not good on Defense in RF. Adam Dunn is bad on defense in LF. If he doesn't give away more than he makes, great. I don't have to hear Hart whine, cry, and talk about how he's not walking.
Maybe I'm alone here, but I'm willing to give the guy a pass. He was frustrated and made an ill-timed comment. But, I do want to know what is gained by the home fans booing? I'm willing to bet that Corey and any other player who is struggling isn't trying to hit soft pop-ups and weak ground balls. I think it's pretty f'd up when the Cubs come in here and hear less booing than the Crew...WTF?
Milwaukee fans don't wear the sense of entitlement label well. Maybe we should back up on that one. IMO
If the Brewers had Dunn the middle of the order would be insane with Braun, Fielder, and Dunn.
"Dunn is an all or nothing guy."
Walks last year:
Adam Dunn - 122
Corey Hart - 27
Looks to me like Dunn is an "All and something" guy.
Dunn stuck out about 60 more times than did Hart, but he walked almost 100 times more than did Hart.
Dunn has the "old player skills" and his game might go to pot, but for now he's way way way more valuable than Corey Hart, especially as another lefthanded bat in MLBs most right-handed lineup.
Mistertony-
It's not a sense of entitlement thing. It's a "he went to the All-Star game because of the fans yet he bitches about the level of support" thing.
I'm with Goldy Fuck Corey Hart. Now where can I get one of these T-Shirts?
