Brett Favre for Minnesota Senator?

I'm still trying to get confirmation from Matt or the Clown if they are responsible for the write-in...

Hat tip: Hacker Birdhas (political junkie) for the link.

back to a previous conversation:

29-34, 364 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INT, another come from behind win.

not bad for the third-best manning, whose qb ratings have been 121.9, 95.8, 99.9, 92.5, 46.8 (in the wind in cle), 134, 110 and whatever 120-plus it will be tonight during the eight-game winning streak.

ok, i'm done. as you were. i just felt you all should know that and were not unduly influenced by ap's goofiness from the other day.

WV-Don't be like that. If QB numbers are your thing, Rodgers has just as many TD passes this year and is rated higher. So who's better?

Dude, obviously it's Manning.....

I'm just saying, people who point to numbers....umm, well....Rivers and Warner are better than Favre & Manning.

People who want to point to records....OK....Roethlisberger and Kerry frickin' Collins are better than Favre & Manning.

You can make arguments for a lot of these guys. 4th quarter comebacks are about #75 on the list of how you should judge a QB. At least to me.

(By the way, didn't Indy's defense score the game winning TD?)

Any way you slice it, Manning is God. I promise you....I believe that.

Hey WV-

What also made it so that the Colts won? Could it have been... A timely interception, a sack by an excellent DE. Man, that touchdown pass manning threw to take the lea... Oh, wait. That was the DEFENSE STEPPING UP.

No doubt Manning played well, no doubt he's a better QB than Rodgers. But the point is that if the Colts D had played in the 4th quarter like the Packers D has this year... "His" come from behind victory wouldn't have happened.

PS-

i know that's not what your post was about... But damn it, that's the first thing I thought. 'Cause we had that coversation.

No matter how good a QB is, he needs a defense that can stop the other team and people to throw to. Look at how bad Eli is with out his safety blankey...

ap - yes, it is ridiculous to use numbers to demonstrate how good a player is. they shouldn't even keep track of statistics.

the colts defense put them in a 14-0, 17-7 and 24-17 hole that manning singlehandedly pulled them out of. manning. nobody else. the colts have no running game with addai injured. he made ridiculous throws all game.

so if you think it was the defense that won that game, well, i'm pretty sure you didn't watch it.

wv23 said...

oh, and using that defense logic, shouldn't the packers' 9 defensive and special teams TDs count for something? that's far more than, say, the colts.

no, it's actually the QB that's winning games for them this year.

Christ you fuckers are annoying.....are you going to take every post over?

I didn't even realize that Favre was running for president. You think that would have been on ESPN or something.

Favre/Driver 2012

@lofty- Yes.

@WV- yeah, the D TD's counted for something. 5 wins.

It's really getting to the point that it seems like all you're trying to get at is how awesome your boy is. Yeah, we get it, Manning's good. But if you like it or not, the game winning points were scored by a defender, and a potential Jags drive was stopped by the defense. Without that, your precious Peyton's wonderful effort would have meant exactly dick. It's true. Rodgers has kept the Packers in games, too. That's what Manning did yesterday with his impressive talent, and the help of excellent recievers. But without the play of the D, it would have meant NOTHING, save for some pretty numbers.

@all-

I'm done with this line of conversation, too. This is getting silly, as I'm acting like an idiot and restating myself repeatedly. Sorry.

no, dogy - i was just merely reminding AP that he said peyton was the third best manning.

my apologies to all that this has upset the delicate balance and sensibilities of the wisconsin football fan and chuckie hacks reader, which clearly has been set on edge by a 5-9 record.

so, let's discuss the merits of favre for president, which this post was about. again, i'm very, very sorry for reminding ap that he was wrong. which he was.

(i also won't mention that the miller park roof closes slowly or that prince fielder is fat or that cc shouldn't have pitched that 9th inning that one game, which also seems to upset people around here.)

Favre for prez... Well, according to that ad on ESPEN!.com, he has a 136 I.Q....

His running mate should be Peter King. It'll save time on finding an intern to shave, and then lick, his balls.

Thankfully you are here to champion the cause of Mr. Peyton Manning, WV. If you weren't, he might go underappreciated and underexposed. No one would know of his good deads; it's like the media refuses to cover the guy.

Actually, in keeping with this race and some of the ballots, the ticket would be Favre/Lizard People '08

actually, ap, i was just reminding you that you said he was the third best manning. that wasn't very insightful of you.
