Does It Matter If You're a Switch Hitter If You Suck From Both Sides of the Plate?

Can we just stop the talk about trading Mike Cameron for Melky Cabrera?

Thanks.

Well, it'll never get done if its just Cabrera for Cameron. If they throw in a pitching prospect for the 142 strikeout machine, its an absolute steal.

And I'd take Cabrera's higher average and lower K rate and lower power over Cameron.

but melky plays in new york. he must be good!

Have you even looked at Melky Cabrera's stats from last year? Never mind the huge drop on defense.

Blech.

How about we trade Cameroon for a bag of bats?

Adios douche.

Charlie Marlow said...

There is precedent for that, clown, so don't rule it out.

cabrera's last 2 seasons: .273/.327/.391 and .249/.301/.341.

cameron's last 2 seasons: .242/.328/.431 and .243/.331/.477.

there are certainly park and league factors at play, but neither of seem to be particularly wonderful at this point.

melky is younger, but isn't he just the OF version of rickie weeks (but can catch the ball)?

I would make a comment about 'upside' here, but I think that can only apply to Rickie Weeks and still allow the Brewers to settle for sub par performance.

Wow, wrigleyville, you and I are on the same page today.

Melky Cabrera slugs just a tick better than Tony Gwynn Jr. And I've read that on defense, he's a corner outfielder masquerading as a CF.

He had an OBP of .301 last season. Career .329, with no power.

Pass.

Sure, Matt.....

but does he strike out?

The Brewers dont need a speedy center fielder with the 2 fastest corner outfielders in the league in Braun and Hart. The gaps are covered. They need a CF that doesnt run in on balls that are over his head, CAM! The Brewers DO need a left handed bat and someone that strikes out less than once every 3 at bats. Maybe Cabrera will flourish once he gets out of NY? Plus there will be other players in this trade so I would do it in a heartbeat.
No move will be made until CC decides where he is going to go anyway.

I agree with this statement...sort of. I think it is plain as day that Sabathia is gone. I don't think Mike Cameron is going to make or break his decision whatsoever. But, in order to continue to pander to the fans, Melvin will wait until CC officially declines and moves on to trade Cameron. If indeed a trade occurs.

Um, Braun and Hart are below-average outfielders. It doesn't matter if you can run fast if you don't know where you're going.

Cameron makes their jobs easier.

Brad tells it like it is!

Anyone really attached to Corey Hart? I didn't appreciate his sandy bikini bottom about Miller Park fans. I mean, don't get me wrong-it sucks when the home team is booing its team...but if Yost had been making better lineup choices, would they have booed? I don't know. I'm just glad he didn't sign that long term contract.

It took him about a month to go from the league's most underrated OF to the league's most overrated OF. And we voted you into the All Star game, you turd.

I love Corey Hart.

Charlie Marlow said...

And he loves you...as long as you're not a fan attending at Miller Park!
