Speculation is that CC is going to pitch tomorrow on 3 days rest, and then pitch again on Sunday on 3 days rest if necessary. That would be three straight starts on 3 days rest, if you're scoring at home.
Discuss. Better to have one CC start on full rest or 2 starts on limited rest?
As I'm not a major league pitcher, I have no idea what this does to a major league pitcher. I know this happens in the playoffs a lot. Or at least I've heard that it does. I guess this week counts as Milwaukee's playoffs so maybe it makes some sense.
Especially since Parra, Sheets and Suppan have checked out for this year. Boy, having Suppan implode lately really hurts. Parra struggling at the end of the year, I sort of expected. Sheets getting hurt, I definitely expected. But Suppan usually is good at the end of the year.

As we discussed, they were talking on Philly radio about the Brewers this morning - and are very eager for the Brewers to be the wild card (because of the pitching).
They also noted CC has thrown 237 innings already this year. Add two more starts to that and it's somewhere before 237 and 255. On top of last year's 241.
Goodness.
Pitch CC twice to finish you have to do it, no quesito what do we care if his arm falls off.
Run CC in to the ground. If the Brewers make the playoffs, anything can happen. Seriously, 2 CC starts, 2 Bush starts, 1 Gallardo start, and 1 McClung start with the expectation of a bunch of guys throwing 2 innings.
Parra struggling at the end of the year. Gee, whoever saw that coming?

CC is a horse. Good pitchers throw a lot of innings.
We got him for a reason. All we're doing is adding to his price tag for next year. I don't think he'll mind throwing the extra pitches this year for the millions more he'll see for proving himself as THE premier pitcher.
Oh SNAP! Gallardo and Branyan just got reinstated from the DL. The muscle will be flexed in the next 6 days, you can count on that.
Where did you hear the Branyan news?
I would assume at this point that Gallardo will be starting.
Since the 1980s, pitchers on short rest are less likely to win, either in the playoffs or regular season. This is largely because most current pitchers' conditioning and development reflects the five-man rotation. Three days rest often means pushing a start up TWO days, not just one.
Sabathia is already struggling due to overuse and abuse, as you may have noticed.
"Abuse"? What, was Yost sodomizing CC with a broomstick?
Milwaukee Brewers
Reinstated INF Russell Branyan and RHP Yovani Gallardo from the 15-day disabled list.

Don't even think about pitching CC against the Bucs! Do we need him for this series? We shouldn't... save him for the Cubs series...
Here's the Garcia plan:
1) Bush tonight
2) Suppan in game 2
3) Parra in game three
4) CC in the Cubs opener
5) McClung in game two
6) Sheets to finish off the Cubs if he can and if we need him, if he can't go then Bush here
Throw in Gallardo when Parra implodes again. We do not need the pitching in the Pirates series. The offense should carry the Crew. If it does not then they don't deserve to go to the playoffs. The pitching is needed for the Cubs series. Don't waste CC now!
This is the master plan!
Garcia -
Your master plan is flawless...except that CC has not beaten the cubs once this year. Wouldn't it be a better idea to pitch him against the Pirates, when he has a statistically better chance of winning?
no! Anonymous... your logic is Yostian. Your best pitcher pitches in the biggest games. Was it CC's fault the Crew lost those two games?
Would you rather have Suppan or Parra pitch in that series? C'mon, stay anonymous so you don't embarrass yourself...
looks like Yo is starting Thursday.
