The one Brewer I like right now

I know he is hitting like a turd, as is the whole team, but you have to like how Braun is the mouthpiece of the players over the last couple of days. I liked his "complete disaster" comments from yesterday. Hey, he isn't going to sugar coat things. They played like junk and he was expressing his disappointment.

After the firing, Braun was the only Brewer you saw on tv. I saw one little snippet from Cameron in print, but the rest were from Braun. If it wasn't obvious after the Boston series, this guy runs the team. In today's J-S, Braun said:

We never lost any respect for him, we never lost any trust in his decision-making,” Braun said. “We always knew he just wanted what was best for us. It’s not his fault, man. It’s not his fault. It’s unfortunate somebody has to take the blame, but ultimately it’s not his fault by any means.
“I’ve always said I think the players are the ones who are at fault. Whether we’re winning or losing, it comes down to the way we play for him. There’s nothing on the field he can do to make us play better.”

I'm just glad that Braun is willing to speak his mind and tell it like it is.

Counsell was on Baseball Tonight (via phone), but basically contributed nothing.

Good to see Braun step up, seeing how last year's leader (the fat, non-meateating bastard at first base) is playing the worst ball of his career and hasn't said a word. Probably better that way though, seeing the only thing that comes out of his mouth is "well, you know..." No Prince, we don't know. Enjoy your tofu burger. Ass.
