Prince Fielder needs professional help

Wow...all I can say is that Prince Fielder needs some serious Anger Management.

Everyone take another close look at the clip.

The guy effing snapped. SNAPPED. He not only pushed Parra once, but then went after him AGAIN when the guy was up against the dugout seats. Could you imagine if he would have gotten another shove or punch in? He wasn't stopping with that second shove.

Speculation about what let to the altercation...is well...speculation. But you can gather from various reports how it basically went down. Parra came back into the dugout furious about his performance. He was going to head up into the clubhouse. He was probably going to calm down a little. I don't know. Prince got in his face for not staying out there to watch the top of the next inning. Maybe he even said: "We stayed out there and watched your (bleep). You can stay out here and watch our (bleep)."

So Parra stays in the dugout and walks away, angrily picking up/throwing down his jacket/cap. So this necessitates being violently attacked by the supposed "leader" of this team? I don't think so. Prince was completely in the wrong here. He should be ashamed of himself.

I have been a huge Prince Fielder supporter this year as many people have called for him to be traded or made fun of him for having bitch tits. There aren't many guys that OPS .900...I think the guy is a damn good hitter and very valuable to this team. That being said, I was absolutely shocked when I saw him get physical last night, UNPROVOKED. It would have been one thing to get in Parra's face and tell him to sit down and watch the rest of the game. Hell, I wouldn't have even minded him grabbing his shirt or something. But he attacked Parra and then when he was being restrained he looked like a freaking lunatic. Dude...calm the F down!

The immediate damage control that was done by Brewers management was laughable. Cirillo, Sveum, Bill Schroeder, Ned Yost...all chalked it up to the "dog days" of August...that the whole team was "frustrated." "Sometimes this stuff happens." You know what...fine. I agree with that (somewhat). But you have to call out Fielder. This is what I CAN'T STAND about Ned Yost. Why couldn't he say something like, "You know what...we're all struggling here. But that type of behavior won't be tolerated. Prince is going to have to stand up for what he did. We're going to move on and try to play better ball...blah blah blah." But no...he throws out some ridiculous line of "It's not a big deal," said Yost. "For eight months a year, we're a family. At times things happen, flare up, but it's between the family. It's in the family.

In the short term, I don't think this will affect the team in any particular direction. But long term, this may have some affect on Prince Fielder himself. The players can say all they want about how they are going to "move on" and "forget," but the bottom line is that Prince has lost all credibility. Whatever "leadership" role he had gained in the clubhouse is now gone. He was never a vocal leader, he "led by example." Well...your leading by example powers go out the window when you are the most standoffish player in the clubhouse that attacks fellow team members unprovoked.

All that being said...can we beat the Reds tonight? Christ...

I still wish Prince and CC would tag team like that against Yost! That would be awesome!

I was calling for Prince to be traded before this season even started. Every time he strikes out, tanks an easy play at first, shoves team mates, evades taxes, stops eating meat, gets ejected for swearing at umps over AND OVER, breaks a bat on the ground in frustration, slaps your star TEAM LEADER Ryan Thunderstick Braun in the back of the head, etc... He loses value on the market

Mark yesterday down as the turning point of the season. I say this lights a fire under a team that has been playing mediocre baseball right now. If Milton Bradley is still playing in this league after as big of a headache as that guy is, I can say it is quite laughable to think that Prince has lost value! I am as big of a Braun fan as anyone, but I don't see him having as tremendous of a season without the big man behind him. Yeah trade Prince Fielder, that makes sense.

Jesus all Manny did was ask Prince if he wanted to go to McDonalds after the game and offered to pay for as many double cheeseburgers on the dollar menu as Prince wanted. Then Prince snapped.

Matt, how does it look like Prince is not trying to break Parra? I certainly don't see any restraint in Prince when I watch that video. I think the fact that whole f'ing team gets between them shows that they all collectively know that Prince is capable of snapping and going mortal kombat on Parra.

Krey,

Fielder is a fat slob who continues to gain weight even though he "doesn't eat meat". The more weight he gains the more obvious it becomes that his longevity is a serious question. Do you not notice him hacking and coughing everytime he runs? He's either smoking crack or is horribly out of shape. The only way he'll last in the majors is as a DH. He also will NOT sign with the Brewers long term EVER. It's pointless to continue to build the team around a violent mediocre hitter that is a cancer to the team. I'm sick of people that watch 5 games a year and go to 1 or 2 and think they are in the know.

Also, from here on in, Fielder is known as "Fatty McTurd Pants".

If he wanted to break Parra with two swipes, he could have.

Instead, he pushed him.

I suppose.....and if the story is true that he wanted Parra to sit there and watch the rest of the game, it makes sense that he essentially pushed him on the bench. I guess I can buy that, but it sure looks like he goes for Parra's head twice before 15 Brewers stop him from killing Parra.

It's an example of someone who's stressing out about his own performance taking it out on someone else. Fielder was thrust into a leadership position fresh out of the minors when in reality he's NOT a leader, and the stress is killing him.

The strikezone that was given to Parra yesterday was pathetic. At least two of the walks that he issued should have been strikeouts.

I will agree on the strikezone. It wasn't consistent both ways.

So now that we've established that it is a fact that Prince Fielder is a mediocre hitter and a cancer to the team, and most people on this blog have watched 5 games this year, I think Ned Yost is an idiot for batting one of our more mediocre hitters 4th. I mean, look up and down the lineup, almost anyone would be a better run producer than Prince Fielder. I also, cannot believe that we didn't get rid of him at the trading deadline, when his value peaked at 24 years old. He clearly hits the rock and 2 fat chicks at the same time! How could we not have traded Prince Fielder at the beginning of the season? You should read all of those statements individually and see how hard it makes you laugh. Apparently, we have a new friend here that woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, thinks the glass is half full. I will personally be on the bandwagon still, let us know if you want to jump back on..tomorrow perhaps?

meant half empty! Lo siento

For the record; I was never on the Fielder bandwagon and I have no plans of jumping on.

What will be really laughable is when he gets arrested for tax evasion. Just because daddy spent your signing bonus on hookers, blow and Whoppers doesn't mean you don't have to pay taxes on it.

so to recap we are now burning our Corey Hart Jerseys and our Prince Feilder Bobble heads that we got this year. I sold the last 7 games of my 20 game pack for a case of Robinade and two bottles of Vodka. Oh yeah and I sold the two cubs games to these guys from Schamburg that could possibly drink any more Bud Light.

Krey-

I'm glad I read your entire post... I was worried that what you were saying was actually your opinion!!!

Look, Tubby Magoo may not be performing at the level that he did last year... But really, it's f'n HARD to hit 50 bombs! I'll take the 30-35 he's going to hit this year and a .280 BA. Pre-steroid era, those numbers would make you a masher, and if maintained over a career are HOF worthy. Yeah, he got mad... He cares. I'll take it. It was childish and ill thought-out, but he's 24.

If someone kept asking you if you wore your raspberry beret while you were driving your little red corvette, wouldn't you be justified in going off on them?

Yes.
Yes you would.
